Also, Just as a forewarning, I will be mostly inactive on weekends. That is my time with my daughter/wife/family/irl friends.

I will be most active Mon-Fri 9am-5pm EST as I work from home and can post easiest then.


After we have enough players finalized, I will take a few days to iron out plotlines before real play begins. I WILL open up an IC social thread to meet each other and NPCs but please be patient with me for plot. As I've said before, I tend to write story based on character-- I feel this gives players more of a 'stake'. The downside of this is the time required.

Between this game and the MnM3e game I'm running, I also got way more players then I expected. So please bare with me as I am a tad overwhelmed. This is a lot after a 5 year hiatus!

The beginning of Plot

So depending on how things go in the social thread, I anticipate plot/ small group threads will begin next week or perhaps the week after.

None of you have officially indicated to me what team ups you would like. If you do not let me know preferred team ups by next week, I will randomly assign you all to scenes. I do not want to have do this.

I also feel the need to point out, while I'm planning story arcs, that a lot of the setting and early threads we will start are based on a large game a friend of mine, Nick, wrote. I miss this friend as we have lost contact and I have gotten a new phone number.
As Geist is a small community, if any of you recognize some of the plot hooks/characters-- this is why. I did not want to misrepresent so I am letting you all know now.

Of course, what happens next will depend entirely on your respective PCs and their actions. But I strive, as ever, to be transparent and honest wherever I can without damaging the communal storytelling experience.

Subterfuge and deception

Just a heads up on how I handle insight checks: In dealing with people in real life and in an RPG, it is possible that they may attempt to lie, trick, or otherwise deceive you. I will very rarely prompt you for an insight check as I feel this is a good way of tipping you off that you may be being lied to. Thus, at any point, if you feel a character may be being dishonest, feel free to just roll your own insight check and post it in 'spoiler tags' and clearly stating what your pc is analyzing. If you do not state this clearly, I will have to assume and once the answer is given, it will not be changed.

Depending on circumstances, I may adjust your score with a bonus or a negative but this is only after you do the roll to again avoid any meta info.

Keep in mind that I may still sometimes call for an insight roll if I feel it's appropriate but otherwise please keep this in mind.

Everyone please make sure from now on you post the following stats whenever you are IC so i can keep track:

Plasm: 5/14, WP: 4/5, Health: 8/8, Active Effects: Primeval Caul 1 & 2 (3 successes)

You can do this at the bottom of your sheet in a private line to me if you wish, or in the sidebar like Juste suggested in the OOC thread. Either way please make this info available immediately.

Hey sorry, didn't think of this before but can you all ALSO add your active defense to the above? Thanks.

Forgot to mention:

Unless otherwise specified, your PCs always start each scene with half of your max plasm. This is not the case if you end your previous scene with higher than half of your max, in which case you will start with the higher amount.

Hello all!

It has been over a week since anyone has posted (besides Malcolm) and my real life schedule is starting to pick up again.

Running this game is no longer bringing me joy so I am just going to close it down. Wish you all all the very best in all your future gaming pursuits though! If I decide to bring it back in the future, you are all welcome.


Though, If I do, I will probably focus on a smaller, more intimate story. As you may be able to tell from the set up (even with the revisions), this was going to be a much bigger scope (i.e., You still haven't met the main antagonists yet).
