Morigden's Bookstore

Following Mag's limited directions, you enter the District of Nine and turn north. Churches and temples call out offering services and blessings of each deity: death rites, healing, writing, travel and so on. Some profess the benefits of following one over the others, or worshipping all equally. Ignoring them and looking about, you find small shops and a couple lively taverns but no bookstore.

Eventually you reach the gateway leading to Eastbuild and turn back, double-checking your path or maybe searching the market instead. But when you reach the intersection to the main road you spot a small shop tucked away near the wall behind some other buildings. Passing down the alley, you find a small wooden shop with the words Morigden's Bookstore written under the symbol of Luadamee on the door. Inside, you find a half-dozen shelves, each only partially filled with a variety of books. There doesn't seem to be any organization to them as they are stacked and lined haphazardly about. Some books are dust-covered and have clearly not been opened in quite some time, others look to be more new. Stacks of books with broken spines, burned portions, or large sections of pages missing can be seen out of reach atop the shelves.

Directly across from the front door and sitting behind a counter with a book in hand is an elderly half-orc with green-tinged skin, short dark-grey hair, and small tusks under an extremely upturned and flat nose. When the door creaks upon your entry, they readjust their glasses and look up at you. "Good day, sir. Anything in particular you're looking for?"

Baelen's eyes were focused on the contents of the shop and not the occupant of the shop. The bookkeeper's voice surprise the wizard. "Oh, dear. I didn't see you there. Uh, yes, I am looking for information about the fey or the feywild. Is there any research present on such things?"

The half-orc scrunches in thought. "Hmm, well I've got a few books about tales regarding them." He shakes his head and mumbles, unconsciously picking at the end of one tusk in thought. "Ah, Actually, I think I've got a book that's got some information. This way," He sets the the book down and steps out from the behind the counter and leads you to the next aisle over. He continues to mumble as he scans one shelf then another then turns and looking over a few more. Finally, ushering you to the side, he finds it hidden behind Tusk Love and another book.

"Here we are, Paideia of the Faerie. Ain't read it myself, a bit too dry for my tastes. Though I did learn, um...well, maybe nothing after all," he cackles at himself. "Anything else? This one here," he indicates towards Tusk Love with a wry smile, "is quite good. A bit of adventure mixed in with some rather saucy bits, hm?"

Baelen's eyes widen at the suggestion of reading obscene literature. "Oh, uh, thank you for the suggestion, but this book might do well. May I flip through it to see if it is what I am looking for?"

The old half-orc shrugs, "Sure, just don't go reading too much or I might have to start charging you by the page." He chuckles at his own joke. "If you do want it, it'll cost ya 19 gold."
