Test Run (Dragon Tale)

Rhaga's first instinct upon seeing the scarlet wyrm was to flee. Not because she doubted in the strength of her sword-arm to deal with a creature only a head taller than her, but because this was clearly a fight and battleground of the Dragon's choosing. It was always a poor idea to engage an enemy that had chosen the time and place for conflict. But the wicked creature could fly, and so there was no way to outpace it. And in the air it would have the advantage.

So there was nothing else for it then.

A slow, tusky grin spread over the hulking Orc's face, and the gleam in her eye became a murderous one.

"Hm...always wanted a pair of Dragonskin boots..." Rhaga rumbled, feeling the adrenaline flow through her massive form.

Without another word, the bounty hunter tore the greatsword from the harness on her back, and LAUNCHED herself at the Red Dragon with wild abandon. Spittle flew from tusks, and her eyes were two pits of volcanic fury.

She would not be the kind to cower as she met her death.

Test Run (Dragon Tale)

Moving carefully back from the dragon Peir absently reached for the holy symbol at his neck muttering quietly, "Another day, another bit of unpleasantness. Garl bless your faithful and those they stand with." Weighing up the distance to the nearest bit of covwer her did not run for now. If the others were going to fight then he would stick with them, if they planned to run he might need a headstart.

Test Run (Dragon Tale)

Tamyir moves forward and to the side, trying to draw the dragon's attention as he draws his scimitar, just outside the beasts reach. "Foul drake, feel the wrath of Mystra's fire!" He spoke, swinging his scimitar in a complex movement. At the end of the swing, three bolts of silver fire erupt from the point of the blade, striking the dragon true.

OOC:
Move: 20ft Forward, 10ft to the left of the dragon, outside of its reach.
Standard: Cast Magic Missile, dealt 14 points of Force Damage.

I don't think my knowledge check is high enough to identify the actual age category, but it is a large dragon, and a Red Dragon, so I know fire wouldn't affect it.

Test Run (Dragon Tale)

Draxis growls in annoyance, seeing his quarry splitting up before he could breathe fire on them, how rude! As the sword swinger moved forward, launching silver fire bolts at him, Draxis turns his ire upon the human, breathing deep and letting forth an inferno of death upon the insolent pup and anyone else he can get in its area of effect.

Draxis tries to orient his breath to primarily hit the human before him but is willing to take some fringe targets as well.

Breath Attack (Fire) 31 damage DC 20 Reflex save, 15 damage if you successfully save.

As the dragon's attention is focused on the human, Rhaga moves forward, attempting to strike the mighty red dragon. Her blade begins to slice downward, but not before provoking an attack of opportunity from the dragon. Heaving the mighty greatsword against the dragon, the blade strikes true against the beasts scales, but not before the dragon delivers a nasty bite attack against the orc barbarian.

AoO vs Rhaga, Draxis' bite attack deals 12 points of damage as you pass through the dragon's threatened area

Test Run (Dragon Tale)

Penny cannot do anything but watch the dragon exhaling and bathing Tamyir in a cone of fire, however, the flames seem to jump start the tiefling's conscious and she swiftly calls forth the formula for a spell. The weave bends to her will and manipulations, exploding into a glittery burst of particles which settle upon the dragon's scales, sticking as if glued to its body while threatening to blind the creature as the glitter stings in the eyes. Penny didn't bother waiting for the effect to take hold and instead dashed away quickly hoping to find some cover, drawing her bow and loading it in one deft move.

ooc: AC17, HP32/32
Std.A.: Cast Glitterdust on Draxis. Will save DC 17 or be blinded (focus on not catching friendlies in the AoE)
MoveA.: Move behind cover.
FreeA.: Draw bow as part of movement.

Test Run (Dragon Tale)

The paladin of Mystra takes the damage full on, absorbing it to become an extra crispy paladin of Mystra.

The blue balls of magical flame strike at Draxis, injuring the pride of the red dragon as he thought this would be going a different direction.

Draxis is able to resist the glitterdust spell cast upon him, but now his red scales sparkle nicely. At least one of the fools appreciated his natural good looks!

Peir moves away slightly away from the rest of the group, drawing a crossbow and takes aim at the dragon.

With a shuddered breath and a wave of his gauntleted hand, the paladin is quickly enveloped in silver flame, restoring his burned flesh in a moment. With a look of divine purpose and anger, the paladin moves forward, swinging his scimitar in a deadly strike, his blade glowing briefly with blue holy light tinged with red sparks as it strikes the dragon with a mortal cut.

Draxis roared in defiance, the stupid human had struck him true. Turning his vengeance upon the lightly armored fighter, he unleashed all of his natural attacks upon the dangerous foe before him. Bite, Claw, and both wing buffets hit, missing with his other claw and tail slap. After the bite and claw, the paladin seemed to draw upon some holy reserve and shrug off some of the damage, slowing the assault. Three more silver flame bolts spring from the paladin to strike the dragon as it bit him, retribution that the paladin had prepared in advance.

Rhaga's invocation of the god of retribution as she swings her greatsword using her raging might, the greatsword striking true against the dragon causing even more damage.

The tiefling's eyes went wide at the battle going back and forth, each of the combatants inflicting big wounds on the other. However, her spell being shrugged off was not unexpected, although it felt like an insult to her. But there was something she could throw at the dragon, something he could not ignore - even though it seemed more like pinpricks probably. Whispering a word of power, one she had acquired paging through an ancient tome of draconic lore, ironically, she caused pain to wash over the read-scaled threat.

ooc: Cast Power Word: Pain. No save. Duration 6rds, damage 4pts.

Tamyir grits his teeth, enduring the horrendous blows from the red dragon. Taking a drop of sweat from his brow, Tamyir flicks it at the beast, augmenting it with arcane power. It flies and hardens into sharp daggers of ice, piercing the dragons hide. "Mystra guide my spell true!" He prayed, watching to see if it inhibits the creature further.

OOC: Thank you DM, sorry I was a little busy.

Standard: Cast Ice Knife for 7 points of damage, 14 if the creature is vulnerable to cold. Dragon needs to make a dc 15 Fortitude save to negate 2 points of Dexterity damage. No AoO due to Shielded Casting

In the storm of claws and wings from Draxis' attack, the flurry kicked up a spray of road-dust that caught in Rhaga's eyes. Swinging blindly she tried to bury her steel into the Dragon's hide even as she wiped at her eyes as the tears flowed.

Tamyir sighs as the dragon flies away, resting slightly from the beating he endured. "The dragon is beyond my spell range, crafty beast. Thank Mystra that I had prepared some healing this day." He spoke, walking up to Rhaga and placing a hand on her shoulder. With a prayer, silvery flames spread across the Orc's body, healing the warrior.

OOC: Cure Light Wounds on Rhaga. Healed 16 points of damage.

Due to my aura of healing, all cure spells restore an additional 6 hit points within 30 ft of me as long as I am conscious. This benefit does not apply to fast healing or regeneration.

I cannot spontaneously cast cure spells like a cleric, but I had one prepared for each level currently.
