Katerina heads to her wagon and throws in a length of rope on the down bandit. She begins tying,"Their, that should keep you occupied. Now are you going to cooperate or not."

The last bandit held up her hands. "Ok! you win! I give up." She didn't resist as she was tied up.

Re: Session 1 On the Road

Chiatracles, who's lying sprawled where he fell, makes some pitiful moaning noises in the hopes that that will inspire the virtue of Compassion in someone and make them come over and help him. He feels that trying to get up on his own right now would be unwise, as he's not sure if it would cause some of his entrails to undergo a change of nature into extrails...

Re: Session 1 On the Road

Saulas remove his shirt to look at his wounds.  The man is covered in scares and burns.  Also other marks which are hard to tell how he got them or what made them.  He is no stranger to wound and damage.  The thing is both Katerina and Sophia had in the past patched him up for different reasons.

Once he feels he can cope with his own wounds he move over to Chiatracles of Urcadia to help the old man.

OOC
19:13, Today: Saulas of Britannia rolled 1 using 4 Fudge dice with rolls of 1, 0, -1, 1.  +3 Lore and +2 Healing skills.
Total 6 - minus anything because Saulas is wounded himself.

"I did not ask for your surrender."  Sophia said quietly.  She knew how menacing she could sound. Level speech was often far more intimidating than yappy bravado. "I asked who's territory this is. Pray answer, please."

Katerina stands at attention, her spear raised. If any of the bandits decided to do anything funny, she'll respond with a most violent involving her spear.

Re: Session 1 On the Road

The bandit seemed frightened and confused, "It's our territory! What do you do you want?!"

Saulas's injury won't interfere with him healing Chiatracles. He can change the aspect to something indicating it's been treated, like bandaged or stitches. I'm going to let magic accelerate healing, but at this point it's still a moderate consequence.

Re: Session 1 On the Road

"Well, I'm not sure it's really yours," Chiatracles says reasonably. "Of course, that pre-supposes a standard of ownership, which is philosophically sloppy. For a start, is ownership a socially agreed-upon conceit, or is it a natural quality emerging from physical dominance of a resource..."

It occurs to him that this is perhaps not the time or the place.

"... but I think what we would mostly like to know if you know anything about a group of children kidnapped from a nearby village?" he adds.

The bandit nodded, "yes, there were children brought in earlier. They'd be at the camp, it's further down this path," she nodded her head down the trail you'd been following, "but soon they'll be taken to be sold. You'll need to hurry if you want to get to them."

"Come with me, good woman," Chiatracles says, leading the fettered bandit to the wagon. "While we are on the way, I shall pontificate to you on some of the elementary attributes of Virtue, as it seems to me that your life has led you alarmingly far away from it..."

Re: Session 1 On the Road

Sophia raised an eyebrow at Chiat's words.  She almost felt sorry for the bandit.

She glanced down and looked over Saulas' bandages, nodding once in curt approval.  He'd done a good job.   Either way, though, they'd need tending later that night.  Saulas too.

"We good to continue?" she asked as she moved forth to retrieve her arrows.

Re: Session 1 On the Road

Saulas nods to Chiatracles of Urcadia.  You are very welcome.
He also looks over his own wounds to see if he can do something about them.  The Britannia always had a good supply of bandages on him.  He may be able to do wonders with peoples wounds but a little natural help from nature never goes amiss.

He gets on his horse and turns to the bandit.

I have lived with the gangs of the wild many times in my life.  You I fear are about to find out that their are worse things in the world than the most sadistic bandit can do.   Torture come in many forms and one person heaven is another hell.

He give her a amused wink.

OOC:
Not sure if worth rolling to heal myself.  What value do I need?

Re: Session 1 On the Road

OOC: Sorry Saulas.  The relaxed pace of the game leaves me forgetting what has happened before and what actions/requirements are outstanding.  Since we're out of battle, and there's no immediate threat, Sophia definitely take the time to do what she can to assess and bind the wound.

It's a Moderate consequence so an Overcome action vs +4...  Hm.  Not gonna be easy with a Lore(+1).  Is it worth spending a fate-point on?

Sophia rolled 3 using 4 Fudge dice with rolls of 1, 1, 1, 0.  Lore(+1) to Overcome Saulas Moderate Consequence.

So.  I'd like to invoke the teachings of Mother Green. (Mother Green: Fostered By the Forest ) to use certain insights to help the healing...  Call it, perhaps a specific poultice of his own blood, the earth on which the blood was spilt, and some of her own saliva, mixed with teh appropriate hedge-witchery incantations...   turning the Good(+4) result into a Fantastic(+6) result, which is a clear success.

Will that work?

Ok, You've defeated the guards, gotten information from your prisoner, and treated everyone's wounds. You know further down the path is the bandit camp and the children. What would you like to do?

Chiatracles talks to the prisoner, trying to impress upon her the virtue of virtue.

Trying to create an advantage to the effect that she at least feels like there might be something to my shpiel.

18:29, Today: Chiatracles of Urcadia rolled -1 using 4 Fudge dice with rolls of 0, 0, -1, 0.  Rapport (+2).

Hmm. I'll spend a Fate Point to add another +2 to that, for a total result of 3. She should listen to me - I am, after all, The Wisest Man in Urcadia. 8)

Re: Session 1 On the Road

Saulas gets back on his horse.  He holds up the toy he has been given in the air.
We need to find the little lady who owns you.  I am sure she misses you very much.
He smiles at the toy.  Then looks over at Sophia and smiles at her.

The Britannian forgets himself and channel some of his magic into the toy.  He is always doing these little silly things.

OOC:_
Aspect: Kindness is good for the soul.
Aspect: Everybody should be free to love and live as they wish.
What effect if anything this has is up to the GM.  I just doing this as it who and how Saulas is.

He puts the toy away carefully.
Let's go and make sure the children get to see their homes as soon as possible.  If their is one thing I really hate and that is someone being a slave.

OOC:
Thanks for the healing Sophia.  My understanding is healing yourself add +2 difficulty to role so not easy to do.

Re: Session 1 On the Road

The woman started to tear up listening to Chiatracles, "I'm so sorry. Many of us lost everything during the wars, and we got desperate. I'll help you rescue the children.

Our camp is just over a mile down the road, due East, but it would be better to leave the wagon and circle to the south. Tinitus guards the South, and he's been hit in the helmet so many times that he can't hear too well. You shouldn't have trouble sneaking past him. Most of the camp will be out patrolling or hunting, but the hut that the children are in will be guarded. If you can take out the guards silently, you should be able to sneak the children out, but if they raise an alarm, you'll have to deal with the boss and his aids."

(The children are not free and Saulas want to save them.

"Provide me with some pots that can make a decent clanging noise, and I will see about causing a furious ruckus in the opposite direction," Chiatracles suggests. "I would, alas, be of little use in a fight, but I have made some very interesting studies into mechanical contraptions..."
