should we start with them cheating and who should catch them?

Ooh how about we both catch them at the same time? Maybe our characters work together in the same office building and ended up finishing up their work day earlier then normal. And both of them wanting to surprise their boyfriend/girlfriend decided to not call them to let them know they were coming home early. And so given they live in the same apartment building as well they decide to walk home together. Maybe after walking your character to her apartment door she finds it unlocked and concerned for her safety stays with her as she makes her way inside. I'll let you take it from there.
