The noise of a briefing room full of staff officers died down after the General came in. He was a grandfather type, with white hair and a pot belly. He stood in front of a large map of Mongolia and aderessed the Red Army soldiers with a stick about two feet long.

"Soldiers of the 27th Mechanized Division, we are driving south to smash the People's Republic of China People's Liberation Army as it pushes deeper into our country. We are flanked by the 43rd Guards Tank Army, who are going to smash into the enemy's flank from the east. Once the PRCPLA is halted our orders are to push south, driving all enemy forces back to Beijing. Questions?"

Zhukov wasn't going to raise his minor questions to the General, but he would seek out his battalion commander after the briefing.

"Sir, for the assault on Novoselenginsk is there any artillery or infantry support available?"

In reply to Kaptain Evgeny Sergeyevich Zhukov (msg # 2):

"No artillery but we do have the 71st Guards Air Assault brigade with Hinds and Hips to help you out."
