Hanako filed that away "Did your husband pay them?" she asked.

"I don't know. He didn't want me overhearing it," the woman said.

"Thank you," Hanako said and turned to Haruna "Should we talk to this Seiji?" she suggested.

"It would probably be for the best," Haruna said and the two of the headed across the street to a similarly sized shop. Inside a weaselly looking man was helping an older woman pick out some bowls.

"Are you the Merchant Seiji?" Hanako asks the man.

"I am indeed, samurai-san," the man said with a wide grin on his face.

"Good, we have some questions for you regarding the murder of another merchant," Hanako explained.

"A murder?" Seiji asked, his smile dropping for a second. "I am ready to answer whatever questions you have."

"Tell me about the disagreements you had with the merchant across the street," Hanako said.

"Oh my, it was just normal business related ones. I felt that he was trying to undercut my customers while not offering the same quality of goods," Seiji said.

"Is that so?" Hanako said "Did you hear a fight from their shop?" she asked.

"I can't say I have. I've been rather busy today," Seiji said.

"Ah, you've had many customers today then?" Hanako asked.

"It was decently busy. Nearly one after another," Seiji said.

"You are truly fortunate," Hanako said "Tell me do you own a blade?"

"I do have a small knife for personal defense," Seiji said.

"That is probably wise, please show it to me," Hanako said.

Seiji walked behind the counter and placed a small knife on it.

Hanako examined the knife and showed it to Haruna "What do you think?" she asked Haruna quietly.

"It might be too small for the wounds we saw," Haruna whispered back.

Hanako nodded back "Thank you," Hanako said and handed the blade back "Can you think of anyone who would want to hurt your fellow merchant? Or any incidents involving him we should know about?"

"The fire men of the quarter are quite the problem," Seiji said.

"If I wanted to talk to them, where would I find them?" Hanako asked.

"There building is at the end of the street," Seiji said.

"Well thank you for you assistance," Hanako said with a slight nod, then left the shop and headed towards the fire men's building.
