After a moment the door opens and a servant greets Kasumi "Greetings most honourable guest, how can one be of assistance? " they said.

"This is the residence of Bayushi Yuuma, correct? I am his fiancé Kakita Kasumi," Kasumi said.

"My apologies Kakita-dono we did not have word of your arrival the young master is not home presently but is due soon. Lady Bayushi is present if you will come in, I will fetch her" the servant said bowing again and gesturing inside.

"Thank you," Kasumi said as she entered.

In Kasumi is led into a small room with a low table "Please make yourself comfortable. The mistress will be here shortly. I will bring tea" the servant said a short while later an elderly women wearing a small mask decorated in swirls of red and gold walked in "So it's you" she said "what do you have to say for yourself?"

"My apologies for how long it took for me to arrive," Kasumi said, bowing. "I am grateful to have met you and look forward to being your daughter-in-law."

"Well you know so something of repect" she replied "I question why you are worthy to call yourself my daughter-in-law" she snapped only to pause as the servant returns with two cups of tea.

"I suppose I will have to prove myself to you, but I am confident in my abilities to do so," Kasumi said.

Th servant bowed and left Kasumi's future mother in law was about to speak again when the door opened and a young man walked in his mask was a thin strip that ran under his eyes from which a translucent veil hung from covering his lower face "Ah mother I was informed we have a guest" he said and then bowed towards Kasumi. "I am Bayushi Yuuma" he said introducing himself.

The elder Bayushi aspect changed completely at the appearance of her son "Wondeful timing, I was just getting to know my future daughter in law. Join us please" she said the earlier antaganisim in her voice gone.

Kasumi bowed deeply to Yuuma.

"It is wonderful to finally meet you, Bayushi-san."

"And I you, Kakita-san. Please tell me how was your journey? " Yuuma asked as he sat.

"It was unremarkable, but rather long," Kasumi said. "But I am glad to finally be here."

"That is good to hear" Yuuma said "I understand that you are to assisting the Magistrate?" He asked.

"Yes, I hope my minor skill with the sword is useful to them," Kasumi said. "I must say that your home is very impressive."

Yuuma smiled "The fortunes have been generous with their blessings" he demurred "Have you somewhere to stay?" He asked.

"While I do have the barracks, your offer is most kind and I would take you up on it," Kasumi said.

"No slight against the honourable magistrate but I think you would be more comfortable here" Yuuma replied in the corner of her eye Kasumi could see the Elder Bayushi scowling.

"Why don't we move to the garden?" Yuuma suggested "we should take this opportunity to get to know each a bit better"

"That sounds lovely," Kasumi said.

"Then this way please" Yuuma said as he lead Kasumi out the back of the mansion into a garden, there was a small pond with an old cherry blossom tree growing over it, surrounding them was a series of ornamental shrubs.

"I hope you approve " he said indicating the pond and plants.

"It's amazing," Kasumi said. "I love it!"

"I am glad" Yuuma replied "it's the most tranquil place in the city I find, I hope you are able to make use of it"

"I am looking forward to it," Kasumi said. "Thank you for being so kind."

"This will be a difficult transition for you. I want to ease it as much as possible" Yuuma said.

"I really appreciate all that you have done," Kasumi said. "I am happy to be your fiance."
