Hello,

Yep I got back saturday, sleep all the day and had a family dinner sunday. But my week was crazy, I worked 36 hours the three last days to catch with the work I couldn't do last week. I swear I can't go away for a moment without problems pilling up.

But now I put every things back into order so I am truly back.

I totally get what you mean. That's why I'm sometimes afraid to take time off of work because even though my colleagues watch my stuff while I'm gone certain things compile up and get away from you and sometimes if you want it done right you have to do it yourself. But at the same time though it's important that you occasionally take off and give yourself time to recharge.

Glad to have you back. Take the time you need to get rested up. This game is supposed to be fun for both of us I don't want it to be a chore for you. And I sure do understand how bad jet lag is after a trip.

It was a good rule clarification. I think it will help us going forward.

Considering if I should just walk up to him, or do anything else. Will post tomorrow.

Question before I proceed: I'd like to discuss what a "trivial target" is. Since for Connor's disguise power, it auto-succeeds against trivial targets. However, the book does a poor job at explaining what a trivial target actually is.

I was thinking it was anyone 1 tier or more under Connor, which means Origin tier characters. But...that seems weird, because would that mean a demi god auto-tricks heroes? And I also feel even within heroic tier, you could potentially have some trivial targets and foes while origin could have some monsters and such that aren't (yet, anyway).

So perhaps it's a legend thing? But even that's weird, although in general I'd say about all legend 0 entities, even really powerful ones like a bear or something, are still probably going to get crushed by Connor 1-on-1 at this point.

Perhaps it has something to do with the narrative weight of an individual?

Basically I'm asking is Porter a trivial foe or not for Connor, and if not then is it clear where that line is drawn or do we have to wing it like we do with a lot of scion's rules.? "P

From my reading, being a trivial target is not a related to tier. It's the ST who decide who is trivial and who is not, on the basis of who is important in the story.

If you are a demi-god, an army of Amazon could be a trivial target if they are just here to fill the scene, but the mortal president of a nation would not be if the PC need to convince him to change a law. In the following scen, the army of Amazon is not trivial because they are the only obstacle on the PC's path toward a relic, while the president is only a bystander when a monster attack his residence to kill the PC.

In our case, Porter and his guards are not trivial, while the visitor are.

Ah okay, so it has to do with more of an intersection of how important is a particular subject to the narrative as well as their power relation to Connor. That makes more sense.

I do however think there can be trivial targets in a combat as well I have to look closer but I can swear there are some powers or next that interact with trivial targets. But I agree with you that in this case Porter would not be because he's like an important named NPC that's the focus of this scene or arc or whatever you want to call it. And they're good thing about the Greek default power is that even against non-trivial targets he still never suffers complications for his disguises. The Greek pantheon is Tricksy like that lol.

Trivial target can be in combat if they are not the focus. For exemple a group of weak undeads guarding a far more importante Necromancer. If the focus of the scene is beating the Necromancer, I could rule the undeads as trivial (and you could wipe them with the Way of All Flesh). It really depend of the situation, but as rule of thumb, the larger the power gap, the more likely they are to be trivial.

Understood. I guess a "play it by ear, and ask if unsure" approach is what we can go on for now. Because Triviality is so subjective (like a lot of storypath).

We wrap up the Episode and go to the next step. Took longer than expected but I hope you liked it. I was thinking to Fatebound you to Porter to have him comeback as a Nemesis or Rival, do you like the idea?

I also added a clarification on use of the Path in the Rules topic, this concern especially Contact. Tell me if it's okay for you.

I also put a Character Sheet for you so we have the same working base:

The Rules clarification summarizing paths looks like how I also understand it to work too. I also acknowledge that Connor is Virtuous right now, and put it onto my sheet so I don't forget.

As for Episode-Related Changes:

1.) I have closed out his find the flute short term deed (Remember, I have his deeds listed at the bottom of his profile so we don't lose track of them), and I declare a new one of...

Short Term Deed: Learn more about the Wendigo. (Ongoing)

2.) I updated my character sheet xp log too. He has 11/21 total xp now as we just finished Episode 4 of our current Arc (#2). He needs much, much more still before he takes over the world and beyond he's ready for higher legend. :)

3.) I also shift 1 dot from presence to manipulation, which I think better supports the current narrative. This has been reflected on my sheet.

4.) I'm still working out Itzli's Guide Mechanics to propose to you. I added a new section to my sheet, Temporary Birthrights, to help us keep track of of Arc-Wide Narratively-acquired Birthrights, like Galya, or like the Irish Gang members from the first arc. I suspect we will see all sorts of new Arc-Long people, places, things, etc come and go from Connor's Story as the game progresses! I also think these "guest stars" add some positive spice and vim to the game too.
