Scene 26 - Grim Tidings in Coppice

Coppice is a small village of barely a hundred souls. Their faces are hung low in sadness and fear. They tell you that a fugitive priest was spotted in town…a heretic named Zarrin who violated the boundaries between life and death. The constable, Gormin, gathered the militia and captured him. Last night they heard the wall in his holding cell being smashed. Gormin ran to investigate and he was killed with his skull crushed in.

Scene 26 - Grim Tidings in Coppice

Yngvar looks around when Maple says this, wondering if she referred to him, or someone else. "We should, perhaps we can figure out how he got out and how he murdered the Constable. We don't like the looks of what seems to be happening here."

He looks around between his new comrades, trying to read them and get to know a bit more about them. He and Silas got to know one another a bit from the night before, but in order for them to gain his trust, and he theirs, they needed to interact quite a bit more and discuss strategies and tactics and everything between them. Maple intrigued him, Silas said something about her being a butcher! That was very interesting!

At the mention of a heretic priest and his  dabbling into forbidden arts, Dantes' face reddens and his jaw clenches.

"This abomination must be stopped!
I say some of us search the cell for clues while others talk to the townspeople to see if there are any witnesses. I'll start with the townspeople, if anyone would like to help me."

Scene 26 - Grim Tidings in Coppice

The deputy sheepishly escorts Wynn’s and anyone else who wishes to see to the cell. The hole is larger then man sized and most of the rubble is on the inside of the cell. The constable’s body is covered by a tarp. There is a prodigious amount of blood and gray matter splattered on the opposite wall.

Seeing he was not really people's person but was not in the mood for masacred body, Silas grunted and went with Tenpiece. "If we want to ask all the townsfolk the more of us there is, the faster we can get job done if we split" he proposed. He aproached the first person he saw and szarted asking questions about what they might know or witnessed.

Scene 26 - Grim Tidings in Coppice

Eirlys' hand comes up to cover her mouth and her eyes widen in surprise at the tidings on the fate of the constable.  She follows Wynn's group to the cell and carefully looks around, her eyes looking over to the tarp covered body and shaking her head sadly.

Yngvar comments about the potential perpetrator and she tilts her head slightly, looking at their priest.  "I have heard of creatures being called out by spellwork in tales, can an evil priest do such things?  Or can they turn themself into something they are not to do th...this..." she gestures at the chaos before them, "or would giants or ogres willingly help such a creature?"
