At the beginning of time, there was the Earth Immortal, Xiayue. She ruled peacefully for 4,000 years alongside her creation, humans. Soon she met Kixuan'e, a demon ruler of the underworld. Unfortunately for them, they fell in love, which was forbidden for two heavenly beings of separate balance.
However, The heavenly Emperor found out and sentenced Kixuan'e to eternity in prison while Xiayue was left to cry herself to death. It was too much for her heart to handle so as a last hurrah, she used the rest of her power to flood the world, and those who rose from the water were able to wield elemental magic, rivaling even the gods.
  She did this hoping to give humans one last way to defend themselves while she was not there, should the time come. Now 32,000 years later, that time is here. Kixuan'e has broken free from the gates of hell and is now searching for the fragments of his lost lover's soul. In his fury and angst he is poisoning the world with his hatred. Only a group a brave heroes will be able to stop him and retrieve the fragment before him, and before it is too late.
