OK first question

Which supplements are allowed and which ones are we to stay away from?

I do not have a strong preference, though as a Narrator Champions or Order is easiest for me and Champions of Destruction is the hardest probably, Champions of Death falling somewhere in between. I would prefer the group to have some cohesion, but if the group insists, we can have a Cave Troll, a Necromancer and a Stormcast walk into the bar style of thing.

So brainstorm away and lets see what we can make up.

I think that's best - I've only got Champions of Order (and some of the extras like Steam and Steel and Stars and Scales), so keeping it simple as I learn the rules is definitely all right in my book

We can use those then. Helps to narrow the options at least a bit.

Now then: feel free to think about what kind of characters would you like to play, as well as what kind of adventure/ setup would interest you. Also, have you played through any of the published adventures? Then there is the question about the realm. Aqshy is the easiest simply because it has most of the published rpg material at this point, but for homebrew stuff any realm can possibly work.

I will admit that as a relative novice to Souldbound, I'm inclined to go with a fairly safe and reliable character rather than something more complicated and glass-cannon-y at this stage, but I'll have a look through the offerings this evening and see what piques my interest. That being said, I'm happy to work around other players if they've got more advanced or defined concepts of their characters in mind.

In terms of the setup and setting, I'd like a middle ground between 'you're on a mission from Sigmar' and 'you all randomly meet in a tavern and decide to adventure together for no easily explained reason'.

Given we're all going to be Champions of Order and presumably playing different characters and factions, I could imagine some kind of irregular force assembled with fairly broad terms of reference in service to some kind of Order leader either in defence of their city/town or acting as outriders/irregular forces for some kind of active military campaign which is trying to take and hold a certain amount of territory.

In terms of the actual adventure, I'm fairly open to ideas - unless anyone has a particular preference, I'd be happy with something varied and episodic until we get into our groove, even if we then transition to something a bit more fixed.

One vague idea I have:

The group is assigned to help widen the grasp of some bigger city, like brightspear. The idea is that there is some smaller asset out in the wild like some old bastion/fortress that should be manned as an outpost. It could be used to scout and detect threats to the city itself.

The game could revolve around finding the place, inhabiting it and exploring the surrounding region for resources, allies, threats, mysteries and so on. This way the city would be reachable for endeavors and such, but would not be the actual focus of the story.

Would that kind of thing be interesting? I want to know especially if you dislike the idea.

Would like to add to the discussion: if you are interested to see certain species as allies/enemies feel free to tell. Want to encounter a goblin tribe  and decide if they are allies or enemies? Interested in seeing a regiment of undead or fyreslayer lodge? At this point many things are possible.

I'm certainly up for something like that - you can have a nice balance of urban and outdoorsy, and there's a lot of different opportunities for anything from skaven to orruks without it feeling contrived, and I think there would be incentives and rewards there both for characters who were feeling more mercenary and those who were a bit more altruistic/doing it for the cause, so to speak. But I defer to other players on that.

I've also managed to have my first look at the classes and the system and I'm feeling a bit more confident about things, but I'm also not specifically sold on an individual class or race at this point so I'm also happy to fill in/synergise my build around other members of the party if they've got other preferences.

In terms of enemies, I think I'm open to different ideas - I think it would be nice to have a fair variety of enemies from the other three Alliances rather than focusing on a single one exclusively.

I would like to see some skaven if it's possible, because I think they're one of the more cool and original parts of the AoS IP and offer some good opportunities for writing, and I'd perhaps prefer to keep utterly daemonic entities to a minimum because I tend to prefer the mundane to the eldritch (at least to begin with), but ultimately I'm easy.
