The game I have in mind is about exploring the depths of a modern city only to find all sorts of strangenesses thereunder.

My thoughts are that we'd have the following votes.

1)  Where are we going to base this game anyway?  Eg.  London, Paris, Rome, New York City, Moscow, Calcutta or Cairo.  We can propose one city each, whether real or fictional, and vote for everyone else's suggestions in order, favourite to least favourite.

2) Places:  Once we've chosen the city, we suggest three places each where strangeness can take place and then vote for the ones we didn't create in decreasing order of preference.

3) Strange creatures or plants:  Same idea but only suggest two this time.

4) Weirdnesses:  Just one this time and it can be anything from Ancient Magic to Superscience or anything in between

5)  Cultures among the denizens of the Underground:  two each I think.

6) Powerful things:  Lost gods, Alien Invaders, rogue AIs?  What is down there.  Only one this time, I'd like to see something wonderful.

7) Factions: Get the picture?  As many as you like.

8) Classes:  One or two each

Hey people. Nice to meet you all. I've played with the GM before in a couple of games, so I'm really looking forwards to this

I've thrown in a few ideas here taken from places I like. It's utterly chaotic and that's the them I am proposing. Rather than a structured ordered place, it's just a mess with all sorts of things from all sorts of times and beleives systems. The place where the old gods can be found, where the children of the gods wander, where angels slum it, and demons can get to an approximation of the real world that they are banned from.

[*] I would have Angels as the super power that was the USA in the early 2000s and Demons as the equivalent of Russia in 1980: still powerful, still has nukes, everyone is afraid of them (that's two factions). More powerful than anyone else by a long way (they won the battle for supremacy)
[*] Children of the Gods, mostly by pantheons, but obviously constantly forming factions and alliances and betrayals among themselves. In power terms consider the greek army to the usa army. Sure it's an army ... but ...
[*] Mortal wizards and psychics in groups. The order of the Golden Dawn, the Brotherhood of the Iron Hand

8) Classes:  One or two each

Nice suggestions Maevre but when the time comes we'll be doing this as separate secret ballots.  I think we'll be looking for new things but sometimes old things are so awesome that they have to be included and I'll welcome these.

Maevre's suggestions for class are so interesting though that we'll have to discuss and then vote on them first.  I'm waiting for responses before I start that vote though.  I've advertised in two games already and I'm about to add a third.  I'll start the first discussion now but we'll let some more to arrive before we vote.

I vote for New York City. London would be my second choice. Let me know if anyone wants a third choice from me.

Indeed.  It's doable with just the three of us, but I'd rather have more.
