A week of camping, after coming off the Cellulitis last week.  Gonna be interesting.

I've been toying with the idea of starting a new Traveller campaign (Mongoose 2nd Edition) that will eventually lead into the exciting and richly-detailed Pirates of Drinax campaign.

The game would start with a few introductory adventures to help us all get to know each other's characters and to provide some much needed context and background for when we eventually move into the main story. Once we're all comfortable, we'll launch into the Pirates of Drinax, a thrilling space opera filled with political intrigue, exploration, and of course, piracy.

Character generation can follow the rules as outlined in the Mongoose Traveller 2nd Edition core rulebook. However, for those who prefer a more controlled approach to creating their character, I am also open to allowing point distribution as an alternative. You can create your character following the Lifepath system, or distribute points as you see fit.

I can provide access to the rules and backgrounds for the game as needed. One thing though, I hope to incorporate some AI-generated artwork for certain scenes and characters (the pics will obviously not be shared outside the group or sold in any way).

I know almost nothing about Traveller and I think trying to learn doesn't sound terribly interesting.

Sorry if that was unclear. Sir Von was more distracted by me looking back and seeing us call the knight both Sir Gregor and Sir Gregory back and forth. He wasn't saying that the knight is visible.

Oh yes, what was the resistance on the melee attack on the downed guy?

I'm curious here. My setting knowledge when it comes to the nobility is relatively spare. Does Sir Von have any obligation to, say, prevent the other knight from drowning? Legal, moral, ethical, social, cultural, or otherwise?

If he does nothing and just leaves the man in the water, is he likely to get into trouble (assuming the details get out)?

Is the answer to that question altered by the fact that the other knight and his hired goons were functionally engaged in mass murder of civilians at the time?

Good point, and normally his honor would probably require it - but he sees some Vuldroks, eager to gain glory (and perhaps some nice loot) diving in where Sir Gregory went under.

Ah, yes, let the fucker enjoy some pleasant Vuldrok justice and legal system. That is great.
