Chapter One: The Broken Tusk Inn

The savory scents of meats, pastry, and spices fill the air around a three-story building mounted on the back of a gigantic tortoise. A cooking stand and a festival stage with a long table are in the process of being broken down at the tortoise's feet, where an orc stands over a massive oven. She bustles, passing meaty pies out to her customers and stacking more on a cooling rack nearby.

Chapter One: The Broken Tusk Inn

Lesstry sat mostly quietly fiddling with the pouch of one hundred pieces of gold he'd received  for his victory. The whole thing felt sour, and not just because of the haunting vision he'd seen after entering the portal of light, or the fact that he was dragged out of the grotto unconscious by their rivals; the loss of Gar hung in his mind and tugged at him. It was the first time he'd seen someone so brutally killed, and he felt responsible.

Lesstry raised a clawed hand to flag down a barmaid, "A round of drinks please" he said solemnly as he laid out the necessary coin before he pulled it back and began to fiddle with the tin star on affixed to his coat. He released it's clasp and laid it on the table in front of him. He had just met Gar, in fact he had just met everyone at this table within the last day. How long would this haunt him?

Chapter One: The Broken Tusk Inn

After the players have rested the night they will awaken to a knock by Elder Ushru. The goblin will invite them to join him downstairs for breakfast mentioning that he has some, "friends" he would like to introduce them to.

Moving down the rickety stairs of the Broken Tusk Inn the players arrive at breakfast with Ushru and his two characters' guests; one a dark elf with deep purple eyes. The elf stands halfway between five and six feet and is possessed of a lean and graceful body like most of his kin. Tattoos of white and yellow decorate his skin in multiple places, and he has several piercings. Uncharacteristic of his ilk, this drow's hair is cut quite short.

The other character is a tall and straight-tiefling woman who wears a thick leather jacket, similar in design to Lessentry's own. The tiefling has dark eyes, snow-white hair, and a menacing grand maul stripped across her back.

Chapter One: The Broken Tusk Inn

Zaelys put her finger on Lesstry's tin star as he fiddled with it on the table top. "How would he want you to remember him? How would he like you to celebrate him?"

Zaelys inclined her head to the side as she attempted to catch Lesstry's eyes.

"The name is Zaelys, by the way, Zaelys Sul, your friend died a warrior's death, and while this may be a bit much...I envy him."

Chapter One: The Broken Tusk Inn

Romeroz came down the stairs to the common room looking bleary eyed.  "Lesstry and Chitterkit knew him better than I.  They have the right of mourning."

Romeroz bowed briefly to Elder Ushru.  "There was more in the grotto than just the contest.  And I think I need to speak to someone who understands the Luxon.  I..."

Romeroz shook his shaggy head, and smiled at the newcomers.  It came off as a bit feral, so he offered empty hands for grasping.  "The Elder brings you, so likely you know more than we do.  It is nice to meet you both.  I am Romeroz, and I want to make a positive contribution to society."
