Sev frowns at Dalmar's talk of 'tears in the mesh of existence', giving Ki-Eldi a look that seems to ask "who the blazes is this guy?"

"We must first defend our ship if we are indeed to leave this moon," Ki-Eldi responds to Dalmar grimly. "However, I agree that repairing the ship should certainly take precedence over seeking out battle with these creatures."

"Indeed."

"I shall check on how things are fairing out there," Ki-Eldi says grimly, pausing to send a concerned glance at Sev as the young man begins to pick his way along the the wall of the corridor outside the medbay.

"I'll be fine," Sev assures him bravely, making a gesture for the Cerean to continue. "I'll join you out there shortly."

Ki-Eldi surveys him a moment longer, before nodding.

"It is good to see you again, my friend," he says with a warm smile, before hurrying swiftly off in the direction of the boarding ramp.

"So, how do you know my old master?" Sev asks Dalmar, releasing his hold of the wall as he takes a couple of tentative steps, limping forward into the central lounge of the ship.

"A chance encounter, and a joining of interests," Dalmar says evasively, clearly feeling the less Sev remembers about what actually happened to him, the better off Dalmar is likely to be.

"Are you sure you will be able to hold your tools steadily enough to repair the ship?" Dalmar turns the subject as Sev limps again.

Dalmar's attempt to change the subject is successful, as Sev nods resolutely.

"I'll manage," he replies, before frowning as he glances about at the loose wiring and dismantled panels about the ship. "Looks like we've got our work cut out for us, huh? What exactly happened to the ship?"

"It is difficult for me to say, since our technology is different to yours. But I believe your power core that Stardin calls the 'hyperdrive' became damaged," Dalmar says, in the tone of someone who wouldn't necessarily know a hyperdrive from a hydrocooler.

Sev frowns, continuing to eye the exposed wiring with interest as he limps his way through the lounge, making for the direction of the boarding ramp in which Ki-Eldi disappeared.

"Seems a little excessive for damaged hyperdrive," he frowns, before shrugging, "but I suppose it depends on the extent of the damage."

“Indeed,” says Dalmar in the tone of someone who knows that sometimes it is wise to contribute as little as possible opinion-wise when you know absolutely nothing about a subject.

If Sev harbors any suspicions as to Dalmar's lack of knowledge on the subject, he is polite enough not to say as much, turning his gaze from the wires as he limps into the corridor that leads to the boarding ramp. However, halfway down the boarding ramp he stiffens, reaching instinctively for where his lightsaber would normally be hanging at his belt. His gaze rests on Cassus, who has just jetted over the edge of the ledge, deactivating his jetpack to land lightly on the platform, holstering his blaster pistol back in it's holster.

"Mandalorians?" Sev queries of Ki-Eldi evenly, as his gaze moves across to Kari who stands a few meters away.

"Indeed," replies Ki-Eldi, who seems to realize he probably should have filled Sev in on this detail. "Much has happened since Jaga's Cluster. The Mandalorians have been defeated and no longer pose any threat to the Republic."

"Don't be so sure of that," Cassus replies darkly as he strides toward the ship.

"What of the creatures down there, Cassus?" Kari inquires as she falls into line beside him.

"Cassus?" Sev repeats, his tone shifting from puzzled to accusatory as he takes an involuntary step backwards, glancing at Ki-Eldi.

"I shall explain everything as soon as we have a chance," Ki-Eldi replies. "As I said, a great deal has changed since your last memory, and Cassus has been instrumental in rescuing you from the prison in which we found you."

"Prison?" Sev repeats, frowning.

Cassus ignores him.

"The creatures are dead or have fled," he answers Kari. "At least 30 were slain, however I estimate that at least that number again retreated back into the tunnels. I doubt it will be long until they are back, and in greater numbers."

"Or perhaps they have been scared off for good," Aldran suggests hopefully.

"Perhaps," Cassus allows, though his tone makes it clear he thinks this is a decidedly optimistic result.

"Or perhaps not. Cassus' first assessment is more likely to be accurate. Most sentients return in greater numbers when their kin are slaughtered," Dalmar contributes unhelpfully. "Which is why it would be convenient if you focused on repairing this ship."

"Let's try to keep a little optimism," Aldarn suggest with a disapproving glance at Dalmar.

"Pessimism would be assuming Sev was not going to be able to repair this ship," Dalmar points out.
