The intermediate period lasted billions of years, various species and forms evolving and dying over and over again until like the Primordial Ones before us, we achieved consciousness and sentience. And we were not alone.

  In other star systems and other worlds throughout the cosmos others did as well. Infinite in their forms, motivations, and behaviors, we all shared that common ancestry. The Spark that gave Life to inanimate matter. Some have embraced their existence while others sought to destroy it. Some became one with their homes and others have transcended the limitations of their biology to form a kind of immortality. Thus began the struggle of the Children. Those nihilistic species bent on destroying the "unnatural" abomination called life, against those who hold life to be a precious and singular gift. It was from this time the Great Dying plagued the entirety of our known universe. Those nihilist races bent solely on destruction conquered and destroyed everything and everyone known to exist.
