Sorry folks! I've been sick, and wife has been sick as well. We figured out it wasn't Covid, but it came close.

On the plus side, at our doctor visit, we were told our A1C and cholesterol levels were the best we've ever had, s that was a big plus... LOL

We're not waiting on anyone, and I think we may be getting close to starting. Let me double check things...

Everyone begins with a shared apartment among you. How did you all end up coming together? What, if anything do the others know about you?

My character normally sleeps within the earth itself, as he only feeds on geo thermic energy. However, he does have a very human sister and mom. If the aliens are a threat, he may want them living with him and the others. They could protect them when he's not around.

Greetings!  Mr. Small is the toy-sized thief, the itty-bitty burglar, the pocket-sized pickpocket, and now a frequent nuisance for the V'sori.

He's a pretty good roommate -- doesn't take up much space and brings in much more food resources than what he consumes.  The group hasn't seen him at a normal human size so they can probably assume that his shrunken stature is permanent.

I don't know if he would have worked with any of this group in the past to end up together now.  Maybe they all have a common contact who originally brought them together but is now absent having been killed or captured.

Other possible options to consider
(1) Finding other members by accident, turning what was supposed to be a different operation into a rescue mission
(2) They were each independently pursuing a similar goal and found themselves at risk until they combined their forces.

... or something else.  I'm pretty much open to whatever seems like a good idea.

Hey everyone, I'm still working on my concept, but high level is I'm playing a now dead NYC cop whose mind was scanned, digitized and downloaded into a a robot body using an illegal facility whose security failed due to the ruination of Earth, so now the robot is active and loose.  Unfortunately, the robot body was built for nefarious purposes and has programming to do very bad things, but it also compels the officer to escape the city by any means to find the corporation's other facility.  On the latter, both agree, because it's the only hope of getting this thing reprogrammed!

Still working out with the GM what kind of robot body this is, but my original concept is it has the ability to look like any of a wide variety of ordinary humans and serve as an infiltrator/assassin.

I’m working out being a tech/MMA speedster ninja Guru with GM also. Could be fun with her being an escape artist of sorts with detective skills.

Push is an Ozymandias/Reed Richards type hypermind who's probably spent most of the post-invasion period trying to make generators and other tech necessities out of old building parts and torn-up wiring.

Push and the Flare may get along quite well if their egos don’t get in the way. Lol

I have to say, it is an interesting group coming together for sure. :)

A couple of housekeeping things.

1) I know it could be a bit quirky for everyone to have come together all at once, so what if each of you knew at least one or two of the others, and came together kind of organically that way?

2) Is anyone familiar with the Adventure Deck? I was thinking about using it and would love to hear folks thoughts on it. I've got access to the deck through Roll20 and can deal, etc. there and post here who would have what. (Because of similar cards in use for TORG/Torg Eternity, I've always thought that those type of cards can make for a bit extra control for the players to adapt a game and make it truly their own...)

Also, take a look at the posts in the Setting thread I'm about to update for details on your "Lair/Hideout" and the neighborhood. :)

1-my background is an immgrant construction worker that was transformed by alien tech he sabotaged. I may have known people before that, as my sister and mom came into the country undocumented while stuff like that still mattered. (AKA-pre Invasion)

After my transformation I would want to make sure my family is safe, and fight the invaders. I could also have met people while I was attacking an alien prison camp.

2-I know Torg, and I liked the adventure deck idea. However, I dont know of it outside of that game.

3-as for a lair, I just need contact with earth and can fix the place up or make us some secert passages in and out.

If any of the other characters had a criminal background prior to the invasion, there's a possibility that they may have previously knew Mr. Small.

If a character was more on the side of the law but otherwise normal prior to the invasion, there could be a friend-of-a-friend relationship in place.  Maybe the character wouldn't have normally associate with criminals in the past but had a friend who knew Mr. Small to be introduced casually but they could not talk her out of not seeing him.

Otherwise, I guess it's going to be chance encounters, accidentally meeting up at the right place and right time.

I am aware of Torg and I think that I remember hearing about the Adventure Deck in relation to it.  Since I never played it or saw it in action, I don't have an opinion on it.  I'm not opposed to it.  In fact, I'm kind of interested in seeing how the concept works.  If it doesn't work, we can always drop it.

What sort of crimes would Mr Small have been into before his transformation? My mother and sister would need fake documents to get into the country, and needed to be smuggled in over the boarder. Would you have known them? They where also fleeing drug cartels in South America. Maybe you knew one of the gangs down there, and felt bad for the Duma family?

Everyone should now have an editable character sheet now. Please let me know if you see any issues or if you have any thoughts on improvement, etc. :)

Forgery, no, but he probably would know somebody who could supply those services.  He would be more the type to make certain documents and evidence "disappear" or plant other documents to make things look legitimate.

Smuggling, yes, but probably not people... unless there was somebody paying a pretty good price to make sure that somebody got in the country.  I don't want make any assumptions about the virtue of your mother or sister to speculate on how they met him or maintained a connection afterwards that would have resulted in our characters meeting up.

It might not be that important right now.  It's part of the backstory.  The group is supposed to know each other.  We can fill in the blanks later if needed.
