Angelo Espinosa
Team Role: Lancer

Codename: Skin
Height: 5’7”
Weight: 155 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Skin: Gray
Birthplace: Los Angeles, California
Ethnicity: Hispanic
Age: 16
Colors: Blue, Purple, Yellow

History:

Born in the Barrio in South Central Los Angeles, Angelo tried his best to stay away from the gang lifestyle on the advice of his highly Catholic single mother. He refused to fly anyone’s colors or to get involved in the drug trade.

Unfortunately, when everyone around you falls into such a lifestyle, he is hard to stay away forever. Angelo fell hard for a girl named Miguela Tores. She lured him out on what should have been a fun night with her and his friend Gordo that instead turned out to be a drive-by shooting on one of Tores’s gang’s rivals. However, those rivals shot back and managed to destroy the car. Gordo was killed while Tores escaped. While Angelo was passed out in a flaming car, a homeless man stole his wallet. While Angelo managed to escape the car before it exploded, but the homeless man did not. The charred corpse was assumed to be Angelo and he was presumed dead.

Angelo left town and remained homeless for a few months. Sensing the boy’s plight, Xavier put Angelo on the list of candidates for the next class of Xavier’s academy. Unfortunately, that list fell into the hands of the Phalanx and she and the other candidates were captured in an attempt to assimilate them. Once they escaped, thanks to the help of Banshee and Sabretooth, the new class of Xavier’s Academy was formed in Massachusetts.

Personality:
Angelo grew up in a strongly religious household with a single mother in an area where his peers were torn asunder through inner-city gang politics and violence. He spent so long trying to resist this only to get pulled in by the girl he loved. He saw his friend die before his eyes and then faked his own death to get away from the situation. In doing this he also broke his mother’s heart as she too thinks he died that night.

Once out of that environment, Angelo has shown himself to be a creative and ingenuous. He designed and constructed a treehouse in the Biodome and has shown some knack for electronics too. Moreover, his casual, laidback, warm approach to people means that he makes friends easily and can often serve as peacemaker between the more volatile members of the team. Although he can’t always be relied on to follow the rules and does tend to be a bit of a trouble-making rebel, he is also one who will take responsibility for his actions.

Powers:
Angelo has elastic skin that tends to be loose enough that he always has about six feet of extra skin. However he has demonstrated the ability to stretch and morph his body to a surprising degree and even alter his own appearance.

Paige Guthrie
Team Role: The Smart Girl

Codename: Husk
Height: 5’6”
Weight: 130 lbs
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Blond
Birthplace: Cumberland County, Kentucky
Ethnicity: West European
Age: 15
Origin: Mutant
Occupation: Student
Colors: Red, Yellow, Black

History:
Paige grew up on a farm in rural Kentucky as the second of ten children. When her older brother’s powers first manifested, it caused the death of their father. She understood it was an accident though and did not feel bitter towards him about it for long.

In fact, as her brother went on to join the New Mutants and establish himself as a hero, she too wished that she could become a mutant so that she too could be special. She did many dangerous things that caused her injury before finally discovering her powers.  She revealed this to her brother next visited them. Unfortunately, they were attacked during that visit. Paige helped her brother and his teammate Boom-Boom defeat the enemies.

Xavier naturally put her on the list of candidates for the next class of X-Men after hearing about this. Unfortunately, that list fell into the hands of the Phalanx and she and the other candidates were captured in an attempt to assimilate them. Once they escaped, the new class of Xavier’s Academy was formed in Massachusetts.

Personality:
Paige is generally a very morally upstanding girl who forms strong bonds with her family and friends. She naturally falls into a caretaker role and will stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

She also has a need for validation. One of ten siblings and being forced into a motherly role at a young age, Paige has never really gotten the kind of individualized attention that many children have. She feels the need to prove herself to earn validation. Paige was so desperate to be a mutant so that she could be unique that she engaged in activities that resulted in self-harm until she found a power. This extends to her focusing on her studies more than any other student in the school to prove she isn’t a country bumpkin.

She is highly amorous an extremely strong desire to constantly be in a relationship. She is naturally drawn to some of the most dysfunctional men and is generally vulnerable to flirtation and seduction.

Powers Explanation:
Paige has the ability to tear off the outer layer of her skin and for the skin underneath to be any substance she has encountered. This allows her to be extremely durable and resistant to damage as well as immune to most environmental effects by simply changing what she is made of at will. The stats above presume she is using her powers cleverly.

Jubilation Lee
Team Role: The Heart

Codename: Jubilee
Height: 5’2”
Weight: 105 lbs
Eyes: Brown (sometimes wears blue contacts)
Hair: Black
Birthplace: Beverly Hills, California
Ethnicity: East Asian
Age: 13
Colors: Yellow, Pink, Blue

History:
Jubilee was the daughter of wealthy Hong Kong immigrants who was born and raised in Beverly Hills, California. She attended an exclusive Beverly Hills elementary school where she proved to be skilled in gymnastics. She spent all of the rest of her free time in the local shopping mall, particularly the arcade and the food court. She was a trouble-maker and discovered her powers when she was only 11 and she found she could create a light blast that would allow her to escape from mall security.

Her parents died soon after under mysterious circumstances and mutant hunters came after her. She was saved by the mysterious mutant Gateway who delivered her to the X-Men. They took her in as their ward. She spent the next couple years either living in the X-Men’s base or following them on missions. She particularly spent a lot of time with Wolverine who acted as a father figure.

When Xavier was planning the next class of mutants, she was naturally put on the list to be part of it despite being the youngest.

Jubilee is generally upbeat, energetic, and positive if a bit inattentive. She cares deeply about her friends and is always doing something to cheer them up or make them have more fun. She is very chatty and loves to talk about the adventures she has been on. However, as Jubilee is an orphan and one that then spent two years around only adults in the X-Men. She always desires to be the center of attention. This can make her come across as annoying or selfish to those who cannot keep up with her energy.

Moreover, Jubilee is the youngest, smallest, and least educated of the whole team and has perhaps the least useful mutant power despite having the most experience adventuring. This can cause her to act rashly, foolishly, or dangerously to gain the respect of her peers.

Powers:
Jubilee has the power to create fireworks from her hands. They can be of any color she wishes and are bright enough to temporarily blind someone. While her powers are not usually destructive, she has demonstrated the ability to blow things up too. She is also said to have some latent psychic powers, but they have not manifested.

Monet St. Croix
Team Role: The Powerhouse

Codename: M
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 125 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Birthplace: Algiers, Algeria
Ethnicity: North African
Age: 16
Origin: Mutant
Occupation: Student
Colors: White, Black, Red

History:
The descendant of Algerian royalty, Monet grew up as the second child of a rich and eccentric father who was not only an ambassador, but also controlled many of the countries largest and most successful businesses.

Monet thus enjoyed unimaginable wealth during her childhood and was easily her father’s favorite child who received most of his attention and affection. However, the other side of this was that she was forced to grow up all too quickly and put on a show of being perfectly beautiful, graceful and gallant so she could be paraded by her father in front of diplomats, CEOs, presidents and other VIPs. She was thrust into an adult world far earlier than a girl should be and, through her brother’s increasing corruption, saw girls like her get preyed on.

Once her brother’s insanity reached the degree that she was in mortal danger, her father requested Xavier take her away for her own safety. She was listed as being a member of the upcoming class of X-Men. Unfortunately, that list fell into the hands of the Phalanx and she and the other candidates were captured in an attempt to assimilate them. Once they escaped, the new class of Xavier’s Academy was formed in Massachusetts.

Personality:
Monet can come off as professional, unflappable, and very mature for her age. At least until she loses her temper over something quite petty. Monet is obsessed with appearing flawless. She may come across as being effortlessly more intelligent, attractive, and athletic than everyone else, but she holds in a lot of stress.

She does not take criticism well while constantly criticizing others for their shortcomings. While she tries her hardest to put on an act of being charming and delightful towards strangers, she easily falls into arguments with her friends that sabotage her personal relationships. When she overly concentrates on an problem, she tends to slip into a catatonic state and become unresponsive as though sleepwalking.

But as she knows she is the toughest and strongest she is quick to put herself in harm’s way to protect her friends from being hurt. And this not only means physical harm, but also emotional harm that she is not nearly as invulnerable to as she would like to think.

Powers:
Monet has extremely enhanced physique that makes all her physical capabilities much higher than a normal girl of her age. She also has heightened senses, high intelligence, and the abilities of flight and telepathy. She is about as close to human perfection as one might hope to achieve.

Everett Thomas
Team Role: The Leader

Codename: Synch
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 165 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Shaved/Black
Birthplace: St. Louis, Missouri
Ethnicity: West African
Age: 16
Colors: Red, White, Rainbow

History:
Everett came from a family whose parents were both very successful in their careers. So much so that they decided to use what they had gathered to raise more than their only biological son and adopt special needs children. Everett has an autistic blond younger brother and blind Korean baby sister.

Everett was an academically and athletically gifted young man from St. Louis who was well on his track to graduate college. The teachers and staff at his school saw him as someone who made the school feel special in a sea of students who seemed to have already given up on any real ambitions on life. He easily would have been the valedictorian for his class if only his life hadn’t been interrupted.

Even though he was a mutant, his mutation meant that he had no idea until he first encountered a mutant. However long before he had realized he was a mutant himself, Xavier had detected him and put him on a list of mutants to recruit for the next class of Xavier’s academy.

Unfortunately, that list fell into the hands of the Phalanx and he and the other candidates were captured in an attempt to assimilate them. Once they escaped, the new class of Xavier’s Academy was formed in Massachusetts.

Personality:
Everett is responsible, organized, reliable and morally upstanding. The others on the team naturally look to him for guidance and leadership. He excels in both academics and athletics. Among the students he is easily the most popular and respected. High expectations were placed on him from an early age, and he is used to being able to fulfill them.
His strait-laced manner can put him at odds with the more irresponsible and fun-loving members, but he never acts judgmental or preachy. Everett can be a bit too obedient though and doesn’t always question authority as much as he probably should. Particularly when said authority is a former super villain.

Powers:
Everett has the ability to copy any mutant power around him using a special rainbow-colored aura that he projects. He has even shown to sometimes have better control over the powers he copies than the natural owner of those powers has. His aura also allows him to detect any other mutants in the general area as he feels a natural pull towards them.

Jonothan Starsmore
Team Role: The Rebel

Codename: Chamber
Height: 5’9”
Weight: 140 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Brown
Birthplace: England
Ethnicity: West European
Age: 18
Colors: Black, Gray, Dark Blue

History:
Jono grew up in a wealthy family of socialites in London, England. He enjoyed a good life and was quite popular until he was 17 and his powers first manifested in an explosion that destroyed face and chest and crippled his girlfriend, Gayle Edgerton. He had to get used to his new state of being and became the picture of a rebellious sarcastic angsty teenager, dressing all in black and listening only to death metal.

Not too long after the accident that occurred when he was invited to America to join Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. At the airport he was attacked by Emplate. The rest of the new class of students had arrived at the airport to meet him and helped fight off Emplate.

Personality:
Jono was once a very outgoing and charming young man, but that has been very much replaced with massive teenage angst. It is perfectly understandable given the rather terrible condition of his existence, not being able to taste or speak by normal means and looking like a monster unless he covers himself in bandages.

But Jono can be very wrapped up in his own personal tragedy and that can make him unempathetic towards others or even actively sabotage his relationships rationalizing that he is doing them a favor.

When he does manage to reach out to others, he can be quite sympathetic towards those who are similarly suffering because of their mutations.

Powers:
Jono has a giant furnace of psionic energy coming out of his chest and lower face. He is an Omega level mutant capable of producing endless psionic energy, however he simply cannot contain it.

Mondo
Team Role: The Peacemaker

Height: 6’3”
Weight: 230 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair: Black
Birthplace: Samoa
Ethnicity: Pacific Islander
Age: 17
Colors: Brown, Green, Black

History:
Mondo grew up on Samoa and even after he discovered his mutant powers, he did not face the discrimination that most mutants do. He lived a pretty relaxed, carefree life hanging out at the beach and enjoying the tropical atmosphere of his island. His powers even meant that he would never even need to worry about food or shelter ensuring an easy life for him.

However, this supposedly ideal life was interrupted one day when he saw a tourist girl drowning in a isolated lake in the jungle. He jumped in and easily pulled her out. She was Cordelia Frost, a wealthy and aristocratic girl from Boston. She taught him to use his powers more selflessly and within a week of meeting her, he saved two more children. He fell for her and followed her back to the United States.

She told him that she wished to join an organization known as the Hellfire Club as her sister before her and asked his assistance in gaining membership. However, once they traveled to Boston, they were attacked by the brother of the Academy’s other headmaster, Black Tom. The students of Massachusetts Academy. When an invitation for him to join was extended, Cordelia advised him to join as apparently doing so would help her further her agenda later.

Personality:
Mondo is generally carefree and laidback to the point of even coming across as quite lazy. He enjoys nature and the outdoors as he has a literal connection to the earth. Although he can be quite friendly and jovial in one-on-one situations, Mondo does not enjoy participating in group activities, he generally prefers to be alone unless it is someone, he has a strong attachment to. When forced into a group, he doesn’t speak up much and stays back, so it’s difficult for him to form strong relationships.

Mondo is also caught up in the feud between head mistress Emma Frost and her younger sister Cordelia. While he is very much in love with Cordelia, he knows that she and Emma’s other sister Adrienne plan to do something to harm their sister and likely all of his friends at the academy, but he does not know the precise details—only that he may have to betray the rest of the students here sooner or later to either help or at least protect the one he loves.

Powers:
Mondo has the ability to control natural substances such as dirt, wood, rock or even water. He can transform himself into these substances, absorb them into his body to become bigger and even submerge himself into the ground to hide or travel undetected

Clarice Ferguson
Team Role: The Outsider

Codename: Blink
Height: 5’5”
Weight: 125 lbs
Eyes: Light Green (no whites)
Hair: Magenta
Skin: Lavender
Distinguishing Characteristics: Purple diamonds on her face.
Birthplace: Barbados
Ethnicity: Mixed Race (West Indies)
Age: 14
Colors: Green, Purple, Black

History:
Clarice was born in Barbados, but her family moved to the United States in hope she could have a better future. She was born with lavender skin, purple hair, weird eyes and strange diamonds on her face. Although she was a cheerful and outgoing child, being proud of her unique appearance,. around first or second grade extreme bullying at school forced her to leave school and be home schooled. She became extremely reclusive and shy.

Clarice’s eventually developed powers as expected and, to her horror, it seemed to her that her power was to delete things from reality. She had no idea she was teleporting them. Xavier sensed her distress, and she was placed on the list of candidates for the new class of mutants.

Unfortunately, that same list was stolen by the Phalanx who then targeted those same candidates. Clarice was kidnapped and brought aboard a cargo ship off the shore of Eastern USA by the Phalanx who intended to assimilate the mutants.
However, instead of dying like she expected, she found that she had teleported herself back to her bedroom in San Francisco. It took a bit of time for her to get in contact with her friends and return to the school.

Personality:
Clarice has the possibility of being a very funny, outgoing, and flirty if a bit dorky. At least that’s who she would like to be, who she can be when she communicates anonymously on the internet or among trusted friends. She did grow up on pop media and spent more time learning how to behave from television than she ever did peers.

But having been told she is a monster all her life, or at least that everyone else in the world will see her as a monster which is why she has to hide away has left some pretty deep psychological scars on her. Clarice has crippling anxiety and self-esteem issues. She can barely speak above a whisper when in a group of people, especially stranger. And don’t expect her to be able to talk to a boy she has a crush on without having a breakdown. Moreover, she is certain to flee from any sort of public speaking. But maybe one day she’ll feel more comfortable in her own skin.

Powers Explanation:
Clarice can create portals to anywhere she has been or seen before and can teleport herself and other there. She can also form her teleportation energy into javelins that she can use as ranged weapons.

Cordelia Frost
Team Role: The Wildcard

Height: 5’8”
Weight: 134
Eyes: Left Brown, Right Blue
Hair: Black
Birthplace: Boston, Massachusetts
Ethnicity: North European
Age: 16
Colors: Black, Red, White

History:
The youngest of the Frost Siblings and the one seen as the lot one, the black sheep of the family. Little was expected of her, and she set about to fail even those expectations. She was into body piercing, smoking marijuana and running with the bad crowd even while in elementary school. As much as she wanted her parent’s attention and approval just like her siblings, she found she could get attention much easier by acting out and about the only way she could get approval was by ratting on her siblings.

Her older brother, Christian, attempted suicide and then after that began abusing drugs. Her older sister Emma was disowned by the family and became a stripper in the Hellfire Club before ascending to being queen. And her eldest sister Adrienne took over the family business. Emma and Adrienne provided Cordelia with money that she could use to travel the world and live a life of leisure. Cordelia is not satisfied with being in her sisters' shadow though, even though it is nearly impossible for her to achieve anything they haven't.

While she was vacationing in Samoa, she came across a mutant named Mondo. After befriending him, she pretended to be drowning so he would save her. He went on to save others before she convinced him to go to America with her. Did she really care about him or was she just manipulating him to her own ends from the beginning? Truth is—she doesn’t even know. But she thought she could trade a powerful mutant for the Hellfire Club seat her sister vacated. But before she could bring Mondo to them, she was ambushed by Black Tom and Mondo was kidnapped. She went to Generation X went out and saved him. After that she decided to stay in the school for her own safety-- since both the Hellfire Club and Black Tom are after her. However, at the back of her mind she has considered betraying the team and delivering them into the hands of the Hellfire club.

Will the bonds of friendship she forms with the students be stronger than her ambition? Time will tell.

Personality:
Cordelia is a very troubled girl who manages to both have “teenage delinquent” and “mean girl” vibes. When around those she either likes or wants to manipulate she can be super sweet, cheerful and supportive, but when she stops putting on an act she is disgruntled, bitter and quick to lash out. She can be extremely selfish, egotistical and traitorous at her worst. Any real positive change would be a long journey.

Powers:
Cordelia has the same general telepathic powers as her older sisters, though hardly as  well developed. She isn’t so good at reading minds, but she can block telepathy and scramble people’s thoughts.
