This will give you insight to each of the races and their history. It also covers appearance of the races.

Race Name: Aixue

Protector Origin: Life & Death (Yun)
Physical Description:
Aixue have fangs they use to feast on the blood of their food. They are also decorated with horns and tails that vary in size and style. Their skin tones can be either pale or dark-skinned, but their hair color is either; white, red, or black.

History:
Aixue are able to survive days off of one meal due to their blood diet and this one facet of their race kept them a cut above the rest. However, after Heavenfall, when they were displaced by the battle, there were battles for food sources between the different clans. It was not long before a clan of Aixue had exhausted their typical hunting grounds and they started to prey on the human settlements near them to survive. At first the humans struggled to identify what was plaguing their cities, but when an Aixue was caught in the middle of feasting war had begun.

The humans started raids on the scattered encampments of Aixue in the jungles. The trees were razed to the ground with balls of fire until the Aixue were left defenseless. The Aixue who were caught were then enslaved and used to empower the new economy of the humans. For nearly a century afterwards Aixue trained in the shadows and attacked human fortresses in the cover of night to rescue their people. With the assistance of the Hero Queen Ophelia the Aixue were able to break free of their chains and establish the Union of Aixue.

Society:

With the thousands of years that have passed, even with a history of small wars, some Aixue live within the Kingdom of Krys due to its close proximity to them. They live there largely in pursuit of career path or job requirements. Often times it is related to the study of the demon continent, but some have family lines that did not completely escape the clutches of the Krys. Whatever the reasoning the Aixue and humans here do not get along.

Aixue are seen as a nuisance with the only purpose of fighting large beasts or taking down demons. They are insulted and called "Blood Suckers" or "Bloodhounds" for their ability to smell and feast on blood. Any Aixue holding a position of higher status within Krys is thought to have been given the position to try and forcefully bridge the discontent between the peoples or to have taken it through extortion. Some neighborhoods actively disallow the presence of Aixue here.

Aixue within the walls of the Union of Aixue do not all mingle as well as one might think. The constant bickering between clans leads to a strain when it comes down to politics and other races, but in the pursuit of kindness they put on mean faces and bear with welcoming other races. However, this act is loosely held together and behind closed doors or at the slightest insult their true faces show. It is only then anyone can really tell who is friend or foe. But, generally they have a distaste for anyone not Aixue and can only look passed who they call "Dark Furs" which are the native peoples of Hero Queen Ophelia's kingdom.

Within their own walls Aixue are more hostile with each other than they are with other races. While they boast open borders Many clans of Aixue have held onto their pride since the "unification" of the Aixue. They are split in three directions who all hold various stances on outsiders treading on their land. They are only able to have the heart to make this exception for the Dominion of Carleria who they affectionately call "Dark Furs" because of Hero Queen Ophelia's actions. These three schools of thought grew into large corporations or organizations constantly at each other's throats to gain political power.

The ideals these clans represent influenced a great deal of Aixue society, but the advent of the internet also shaped Aixue culture. Aixue became unable to openly belittle the races they disliked. So, instead, they belittled each other. Those who try and sympathize with Man-Races like humans are considered "loyalists" while those agaisnt them were "man-killers". The intensity of this discontent for outsiders is not felt everywhere, but since some of the voices with the most influence are so vocal about how they feel outsiders should be treated outsiders can feel the eyes of the Aixue from certain clans just staring down their back.

One clan in particular, the Ravens, have since the Blood Hunts (the time when humans enslaved them) demanded that they close themselves off from the world. The Dark Sun clan, the one who worked directly with Ophelia to restore the Aixue's to their former glory disagree for the very reason that it was outside help that causes them to exist. From these two clan's constant butting of heads a third school of thought that offers a middle ground was born and the Blood Moon clan came to be.

The Aixue's grotesque history of feeding on mortals and the simple barbaric nature of their diet have earned Aixue the title of "Blood Suckers". Their current warring clans only strengthen this notion from outsiders that all the Aixue desire is blood. The name is largely an insult and can incur an Aixue's wrath if used incorrectly or by the wrong person.

<u>Race Name: Human

Protector Origin: Nature (Daichi) and Magic (Taikal)
Physical Description:
Humans are varied in many ways. They have a wide range of natural skin tones, hair colors, and even eye colors. It is purely based on their ancestry to determine how they look. Their eye or hair color could also adopt a color similar to the magic they wield.

History:
As children of the union of the Protector of Magic, Taikal, and the Protector of Nature, Daichi, humans have always felt that Aereos was a land entitled to them (despite how untrue it is) and thus they sprawled across the great continent and settled in cities all over. It wasn't until The Kotatsu Uprising (the first rendition of androids to rise up and kill their masters) where the humans required the help of other races to contain the Kotatsu threat that they learned even a shred of humility. However, do not be fooled, humans are still a proud race.

Society:
Human societies vary depending on where the humans are, but in general they are a bit of a chameleon race that adapts to the cultures that surround them.

Race Name: Timesouls

Protector Origin: Aroa (Time)
Physical Description:
They are identical to humans as there is only one small difference.
History:
To understand the Timesouls you must understand the gods. Taika, the Protector of Magic, had accepted the confession of two of her brothers; Duilio, the Protector of War, and Daichi the Protector of Nature. Fearful of displeasing either of them she immediately ran to Aroa to seek advice for she had foolishly accepted the proposal from both of her brothers to meet her on the full moon. Aroa told Taika not to worry and to see them as she normally would. Then on the same night as the brothers approached Taika’s bedroom down the same corridor Aroa would split time in two creating a reality in which Duilio visited Taika alone and another in which Daichi visited her alone. Taika, whose mind existed in two worlds at once, experienced unrivaled ecstacy. When the deed was done and the brother’s had left in the morning Aroa slammed reality back together and Taika found herself pregnant with twins.

Interestingly, Aroa possessed a direct connection to one of these twins. She could speak to them directly and despite being only an infant she could understand them. Not as secretive as her sister she called these children "Timesouls" and revealed their nature to Taika.

Society:
Timesouls have existed alongside humanity as humans for generations and typically do not learn of their connection to the Protector of Time until they hit puberty. They are the one race that lack a truly unique Designation of the Soul. As all of them possess the ability to slow down time for two seconds. However, their ability to speak to Aroa has been cut off since Heavenfall.

In every other regard however they are human.

Race Name: Kotatsu

Protector Origin: N/A (They were/are made by humans)

Physical Description:
Kotatsu can adopt any look capable of being created with their metallic parts since they are beings that are created. However, they retain the metallic sheen of mana-steel that is used to create them. Their "skin" can be made to mimic the feeling of organic material. Their various parts are often interchangeable and multipurpose. They are capable of having hair, but again, like any feature they have, this is artificially made.

History:
The Kotatsu were a foolish attempt by humans to play god and create a living thing using their advanced understanding of magic. Kotatsu are unique in that they possess an actual soul, but it is this very same fact that led to their uprising. Humans chocked the Kotatsu up to just being a series of code and magical commands without understanding their full potential. For generations the Kotatsu were made to do the bidding of the mortal races until one rose up and led the Kotatsu to liberation. Their artificial bodies and interchangeable parts made them deadly combatants and it took the combined efforts of the humans and Warbeasts to quell the rebellion. However, this did not mean they won, but rather came to a treaty agreement in which the humans who ruled over the Kotatsu would leave and allow the birth of a new nation.

The following generations of Kotatsu however would find their lives were plagued with internal struggle. While they possessed this artificial soul it compelled them to find purpose and this caused them to scatter across Aereos and soon their great city that they created was swept away in the sandstorms as it went unmaintained. However, a small sect of Kotatsu remain as the guardians of the city and leave it in its unmaintained state for one simple reason: "Our objective is to protect. Not clean."

Society:
Kotatsu don't really have a culture, but they do have a compulsion to reproduce themselves in an attempt to mimic life around them. However, they lack reproductive systems so they quite literally spend time creating the ideal "creation" as they call themselves. So a mother/father kotatsu is referred to as "creator" and the daughter/son is referred to as the "creation". Beyond this they can be considered a very nomadic people. Some Kotatsu are still made by humans and some are made without a soul so that they can be controlled.

Race Name: Warbeast

Protector Origin: War (Duilio) and Luck (Lykke)

Physical Description:
Warbeasts are as their name describes they are beasts bred for war. These are large anthropomorphic wolfman creatures who utilize their raw physical power to take down their enemies or hunt. The colors of their fur depend on way their habitat. A warbeast born on the snowcaps of a mountain will grow up to have white fur while one born in the jungle may have patterned brown fur. Their legs are like a humans with animal toes, their tails and ears like a wolf, and their hands like a humans with the padding of a wolf on their fingertips and palms.

History:
Warbeasts were born out of jealousy when Duilio learned that the Protector Taikal had cheated on him. He fed his pregnant wife Lykke a potion made from Taikal's laboratory to create beasts that would hunt men, but what he received was a surprise. His first initial seven children were extremely powerful warriors and sorcerers that possessed immortal bodies, but their children were about as strong as a human. This infuriated him and infuriated him even more when he learned they were not immortal, but ageless when one of the chosen warbeasts died at the hands of a human. However, to Duilio's surprise the gift of this chosen warbeast was passed on to a random successor, not even one of their original bloodline. To keep track of who had this gift he had Taikal create a mark that would track those who had it. Thus, the Rose Holders were born. Only seven Warbeasts can ever wield this powerful mark, but as long as they held it they possessed the abilities of ten men, mastery of all magic, and an ageless body. The mark took the shape of large a rose on their back.

After the Warbeasts began to understand what the marks meant The Wargames began. This was a series of wars over ownership of the mark in which Rose Holders were constantly hunted. These Rose Holders began to understand the power they held so they used it to command large armies and push their pursuers back. Royal Dynasties that lasted for hundreds of years started to grow out of the Wargames. As time progressed and times changed the likelihood of a Rose Holder's assassination became less and less to the point that some Rose Holders in present day have been a Rose Holder for nearly a thousand years. This has led to immortal dictatorships and peaceful diplomats who have woven their thread so deep into their people's lives that they themselves are feared as the reincarnation of gods.

Society:
Warbeast society is one where they either believe in their leaders with such fervor or are so deathly terrified of them. This oppression or blind faith does also have a drawback. Some groups of Warbeasts find the atmosphere suffocating and it leads to dangerous groups lashing out at their government. Gangs, terrorist rings, etc. are bred within the Warbeast walls and covered up with their control of mainstream media.

Race Name: Elves

Protector Origin: Aroa (Time), Lykke (Luck), Yun (Life& Death) and Taika (Magic)

Physical Description:
A race of extremely beautiful and slender people. Their hair colors can be black, blonde, or brown. They can have very fair skin or gray skin. Those with fairer skin tend to have blonde hair and those with gray skin tend to have black hair. The rest, who fall in the middle of the skin tones, tend to have brown hair however this does not mean they cannot have the other two colors just that they are more likely to have brown. Their eye color is restricted to natural colors like green, brown, or blue.

History:
Aroa for centuries had watched over her sisters and protected them from the foolishness of their brothers. Lykke who was tricked by her husband, Taika who had become the object of his desire, and Yun who fell prey to the negligence of her brother Takumi. All of them were victims of their brother's plots and mishaps, but all of them had been rescued by the ever vigilant Aroa. The sisters decided to show their appreciation and arrived in the chambers of Aroa. Now, Aroa, who could see well into the future obviously foresaw this possible event, but disregarded it to Lykke's luck. From the love of these sisters, mixed with the power of Yun and Taika, four children were born. To protect them from the plots of their brothers they were hidden away in the forests.

However, during Heavenfall they were discovered by demons and being so deep into the wilderness they were one of the most displaced races there are. Demons now occupy what used to be their land and make use of the steel like bark they cultivated to defend themselves.

Elven society used to be one of seclusion where they heeded the words of their protectors and kept the other more violent races at bay, but the advent of demons changed that. For a time they were mass refugees trying to enter several different countries and during that time much of their pride was taken from them. Some found them to be bothersome, others were jealous of their looks, and some chose to target them because of it.

Years of progress have done their part to calm the distaste for Elves, but it has never fully diminished.

Society:
Elves generally tend to stick to their own tribes of people and still identify each other via tribe. Each tribe celebrates a different one of their Origin Protectors seeing their particular person as more representative of them or superior in some way.
