Team Moley: Meltdown the Download

To Mindhaze's question to him, he looked uncertain but then gave a slow shrug of his shoulders. "It....seeeeeems like it? I don't feel...like...more drained than anything else I do normally when I...do whatever that is."

After Moley told them what he'd found, Warhead frowned. "That's...weird, right?" He bit his lip. "Heh. If this were a scifi movie, this would be a coating of nanites from Download to both protect the building and act as an early warning system." Which wasn't a cheery thought, and he gave a small shiver.

He shook his head. "So. Now what? We just go in guns blazing, grab attention?

Moley had a thought. “As long as it’s some sort of thin paint and not nanites, I could burrow underneath and gently scrape away some of the coating enough to be able to ‘see’ inside. If you two go with me in the hole, we might all be able to detect something.”

"Let's do this!" Mindhaze tried her best to sound enthusiastic. She really didn't want Moley or Warhead to look down on her for being pouty about their lack of support, so she decided instead to be super motivated and team-oriented!

She was prepared to move into the hole with the other two as soon as they were prepared, keeping her eyes (and mind) peeled.

Moley dug a hole underground until he could find a spot on the perimeter where he could scrape away the coating from underneath until he had a spot the size of a basketball.

In reply to Holey Moley (msg # 27):

Moley finds the problem right away. The substance is actually not a spray. It just looks like that from the outside. When he claws away a slight amount of the stone in question-he sees that while tough, they are not unbreakable. What they are is some sort of penetrative substance. It goes all the way through the structure, possibly bonding with the concrete of the building. Maybe even at a molecular level.

Warhead watched and then shook his head. "That's..." He let out a sigh and scratched his head. "Okay. Let's just forget this and go the hard way, I guess."

He jerked a thumb back towards the surface. "Go back up, have Mindhaze hide in a position to flank once we get Download engaged? I guess, first take out some Infected to get his attention?" He didn't sound...overly enthusiastic but just more...mission focused.

Pursing her lips, Mindhaze didn't know anything about what Moley was dealing with, but Warhead wasn't wrong,

"I think he's right. Going the hard way is... hard, but it seems mandatory. Problem is, if Download thinks we're a REAL threat, he might just run, right?" she said, "Maybe only one of us should fight at least until he shows his face? I can shield you, without the monsters knowing that I'm there, from a distance. If it looks like only one threat, he might show his face, and then two of us could ambush him?" she said hopefully, looking uncertain.

Moley nodded. “With Warhead’s new ability, he could pop up behind Download for an ambush when he engages me. I look like a monster, so he might think that I am one on a rampage in his territory.”

Warhead paused and frowned slightly as looked over at Moley, a questioning look on his face. "...tooooo attack him and catch him off-guard? Or are you suggesting I try to plant the device instead of Mindhaze?" He just wanted to check if the plan was changing or not.

Despite the plans and the slight bit of digging, the buildings show no sign of producing any hordes. All seems quite and silent...

OOC-Perception rolls please. Note any special senses you may have which will modify your rolls.

Warhead was a bit wary since they couldn't see inside the building really. So he turned on his radar sense to try and keep alert for things that might be coming. It might not help for 'seeing' inside, but hopefully nothing would be able to sneak up on them at least.

He gave a nod and turned to head back above ground.

16:36, Today: Warhead rolled 21 using 1d20+8 with rolls of 13.  Perception (Radar on for the moment since we can't see in).

"I don't like how quiet this is. Do you guys feel like we're being set up?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. Mindhaze wasn't comfortable with this, at all.

She then head back up above ground with Warhead.

In reply to Holey Moley (msg # 37):

Once again, Moley can detect anything through the ground as he normally does...right up until he hits the concerted from the buildings. Given the large structure and buildings connected to each other via tunnels, he could sense the outside of the structures. Just not anything within them.

It does give him an mental 'map' of the area, and how it is utterly without movement or sound.

Moley paused and considered the layout. “I don’t like this. There’s no movement outside of the concrete buildings. Either they are remaining motionless or they are all inside the buildings. I suppose we should pick a building and step inside.”

Warhead watched Moley for a moment. "I mean, the infected don't need to move around if there's to attract their attention, I suppose. Or maybe Download's got 'em penned up or something." That wasn't a fun thought.

As to entering a building, he spread his hands. "Either that or you or I could try calling him out. Or I could blast the building to see who or what comes out. I'd...rather not get go in to a building unless we have to. Better for us to be outside I think."

Listening with pursed lips, Mindhaze wasn't sure, so she left the planning to the more tactically minded boys.

"I will help where I can, but I am not sure what to do here. This is... strange." she shrugged, looking a bit helpless on this front. Her powers were NOT suited to detecting the undead at all.

Moley sighed. “You two stay out of sight. I’m thirty feet tall. I’ll try looking in the windows and knocking on doors to flush them out.” The massive Weremole proceeded to walk around and look in all the windows to see if there was anything inside. If there were no windows, he would simply knock.

Each window seems closed. Sealed off with some sort of metal barrier. It was clear the place was locked down ether before the fall of civilization-or due to Download taking the place over. The doors are sealed as well. Granted with the power at your disposal any one of the team might be able to rip their way inside. However, no one inside is opening any doors.

There is no answer at first. However, you all feel as though you are being watched. None of your various special senses seem able to bypass whatever Download did to the walls and doors of the area. You all look around attempting to see any result of Moley's words.

18:33, Today: Warhead rolled 17 using 1d20+8 with rolls of 9.  Perception.
