Team Moley: Meltdown the Download

Warhead watched Moley for a moment. "I mean, the infected don't need to move around if there's to attract their attention, I suppose. Or maybe Download's got 'em penned up or something." That wasn't a fun thought.

As to entering a building, he spread his hands. "Either that or you or I could try calling him out. Or I could blast the building to see who or what comes out. I'd...rather not get go in to a building unless we have to. Better for us to be outside I think."

Listening with pursed lips, Mindhaze wasn't sure, so she left the planning to the more tactically minded boys.

"I will help where I can, but I am not sure what to do here. This is... strange." she shrugged, looking a bit helpless on this front. Her powers were NOT suited to detecting the undead at all.

Moley sighed. “You two stay out of sight. I’m thirty feet tall. I’ll try looking in the windows and knocking on doors to flush them out.” The massive Weremole proceeded to walk around and look in all the windows to see if there was anything inside. If there were no windows, he would simply knock.

Each window seems closed. Sealed off with some sort of metal barrier. It was clear the place was locked down ether before the fall of civilization-or due to Download taking the place over. The doors are sealed as well. Granted with the power at your disposal any one of the team might be able to rip their way inside. However, no one inside is opening any doors.

In reply to Holey Moley (msg # 44):

There is no answer at first. However, you all feel as though you are being watched. None of your various special senses seem able to bypass whatever Download did to the walls and doors of the area. You all look around attempting to see any result of Moley's words.

OOC-Everybody make perception checks!

Warhead had something he was holding in reserve for dealing with Download, and he intended to keep it that way for the moment. So he stayed a bit out of direct sight and kept an eye out.

18:33, Today: Warhead rolled 17 using 1d20+8 with rolls of 9.  Perception.

Both Warhead and Moley notice the very small and hard to spot security cameras in hidden spots all over the compound. Both feel certain they are fully functional, and its clear they are being watched by someone. However, nobody responds to any calls or challenges.

Moley sees the cameras and sighs. “I’m called Holey Moley. I just want to talk even if you just talk through the facility speakers. It’s clear you still have some higher functions considering you didn’t just come right out and try to eat me. I’m also guessing you’ve penned up all of the Infected in the area for some reason. Are you just trying to stay away to keep from hurting people or what?”

The radio you have to communicate with the Freebooters suddenly flares to life. No words come out of it, instead its short static bursts of noise. Almost like a deliberate pattern. Then the signal repeats.

Warhead frowned at the...static and noise. "What is that? Morse code? Some low-frequency radio wave?"

It sounded like a pattern, but he couldn't hear anything. He held his radio and spoke in to it, "Hello? Can you hear us?"

Moley nods. “Understood.”He types a message on a secure frequency to his group. <<AI says Download is charging up. He is currently guarded by his pawns while he is doing so. This os our best shot to getting the job done. Now we just need to figure out where he is which will be the optimal place to charge up.>>

OOC: what roll to figure out where Download would need to be to charge up?

Nodding her head, Mindhaze recognized the value of this information, but seeing as how she was blind, she couldn't figure out how to reach him OR find him. She looked helplessly at the other two, and left it at that.

Warhead frowned a little as he waited. Who or what was communicating with them? The frown deepened a bit as Moley answered. "...what? The AI? Download's AI? It's trying to help us? Hmm."

He shook his head. "Well, we could try to draw him out, but if he's serious about waiting for the charge up, then he'll try to just wait us out. But going in...could be dangerous." He then shrugged. "But I guess we don't really have a choice." He then asked, "Stay together and move in? Or split up and search to cover more ground?"

Mindhaze listened to Moley and Warhead go back and forth, but she was completely lost. Download seemed to have all of the cards in his hand, and he wasn't revealing any of them. It seemed like there might be a way to track electricity of some kind, and maybe Warhead could do it, but Mindhaze assumed if he could: he already would.

"I don't think its best if we keep speaking out loud." she said, finishing in her mind,

It is likely he can listen to our speech, so we should speak like this instead... she thought at the other two, opening up a discussion to their minds so they could speak in private.

Team Moley: Meltdown the Download

The doors are reinforced steel, mixed with lead and the strange materials that blocked most of the team's senses. However, through several attempts, Moley manages to get the doors open. There is a shredding sound as the various steel bars that where holding the vault-like portal closed-but eventually its done.

The main problem for Moley is that while the inside loading dock seems to be big enough for his maximum size, the various corridors that lead away from this area is human sized. At best 10' wide corridors. Furthermore, Moley can sense the presence of the sense-baffling materials was present in the floors, walls, and ceilings.

At this point, as long as Moley could not see it with his eyes-then his other mole senses was not going to pick it up. Even Warhead's x-ray vision could not penetrate the substance. That left Mindhaze's mental powers, which had trouble with the infected in the first place.

Warhead looked over at Mindhaze, first surprise and then a frown on his face. Damn! I should've thought of that! He smiled at her, Good thinking, Mindhaze!

He thought in the 'groupchat' at Moley, Moley, is your suit proof against an EMP? I can generate them, which might help with Download, though...it might also just mess with the AI and not the fleshy Infected inside...forget I brought it up. No EMPs. He shook his head.

Anyway, I can't see inside easily. I think an assault to try and draw him and the Infected out might be our best bet, but I'm open to suggestions.

And outloud to cover a bit he said, "Well...hmm. I don't know." But it didn't mean anything.
