Just south from the stoneworks sitting at the northern-most point of Red Larch on the Long Road, stands Haeleey'a Hanadroum's bath house. Half-barrels planted with aromatic herbs and flowers flank the entrance, and the windows are decorated with flower-filled window boxes. Inside is a tidy room that functions as a dressmaker’s shop and fitting room. Beyond two sets of doors are bathing chambers that emanate pleasant smells and warm dampness.

Unlike Tarnlar’s down the street, Haeleeya’s caters to local women seeking dresses for special occasions; she makes few garments for men. The bathhouse is a steadier business, since many of the older women of Red Larch visit the baths regularly to trade gossip.

As you enter the front of the cozy building, you're immediately met by an attractive female human, her red hair artfully held back by a thin golden chain. "Might I help you, good traveler?"

Thuldor pulls the hood of his cloak back to show his face, but to keep his ears hidden.  While tired, he gives the young woman a small smile and a slight bow from the waist with his right hand on his chest.  In a low, friendly voice so only the woman can hear, speaks.

"Good day, milady.  My name is Thuldor and I am a wanderer in the service of the Emerald Enclave.  I was told I might find assistance and information at this location."

Haeleeya's eyes flicker, confirming none of her clients had overheard the man's words. With a practiced smile, she nods towards a side room, obviously used as an office. "Please, come with me. I do appreciate regular updates from the coster." Her voice was of a normal volume, and her body language displayed the lack of concern that contradicted the glint in her eyes.

Once the door to her private office is closed behind the two of them, her relief is palatable. "Thank the Forest Queen, finally someone from the Circle is here. Strange things are happening - they have been for months now. Odd weather swirls in the west over the hills and the delegation from Mirabar has vanished as far as we can tell. My very soul feels that an ill omen threatens to rise...and it seems we can do nothing by wait for it, while strangers continue to grow in number."

Thuldor takes in the obvious concern expressed by Haeleeya and, taking a deep breath, tentatively removes the hood of his cloak the rest of the way from his head allowing it to fall back.  He briefly checks her visage for the condemnation that always seems to follow the revelation of his mixed heritage.  He quickly brushes that aside knowing his concerns pale to those that Haeleeya has just mentioned.

“I am glad my presence lends some relief to you, milady, no matter how small it may be.  What you have stated is concerning.  While I am traveling along, I would be remiss in not offer my services in whatever manner to help alleviate the ill occurrences that have started to appear.  It would seem most prudent as a first step to gather information to try and form a plan to address these issues.  In addition, others with similar concerns would need to be brought together to give the best possible chance of success.

If I may, can you tell me what may have occurred just prior to the odd weather events and other strange occurrences began?  Even the smallest event may give a starting point to research.”

Her expression shows no sign of the condemnation Thuldor fears, instead simple relief that one of the Enclave had responded to her request radiates from her demeanor. "The animals are frightened and the balance of nature feels like...it is being upset. I know that many of my clients have voiced their own concerns, some due to the increasing number of strangers passing through and some even have whispered fears of a more sinister evil."

She shudders slightly, obviously disturbed by the rumors that she is recalling. "I myself haven't seen anything definitive - other than the unseasonal weather that started a few months back. But as for the increasing number of strangers, I would strongly suggest giving Constable Harburk a visit - he might know more than I about how things are connected...if they are connected."

Thuldor nods.  “My thanks, milady.  I will locate the Constable to see what information I can gather.  Maybe a clue will be revealed that will give more information on the odd events that are occurring, and what, if anything is behind them.

I doubt this will be a quick resolution, so can you recommend somewhere where I could find a meal and some respite?”

Her smile is genuine and does more than any words to convey the sense of calm that Thuldor's acceptance of her request brought her. "I would suggest checking in with Kaylessa, down at The Swinging Sword. There's generally always rooms available - and if for some reason, she's full, Mother Yalantha will have a bed available."

Thuldor bows his head slightly in Haeleeya's direction.  "I thank you.  My apologies, but I have one last question before I leave.  Where may I find the Constable?"

"Of course, of course - silly of me to think that you would know that. Harburk works out of the butcher shop, just south of where the Kheldell Path and The Cairn Road intersect with The Long Road. Jalessa is a dear friend...I just can't imagine how Harburk and the boys manage all the peacekeeping and still keeping up with helping her in the shop - but they do, bless them." The pride in those she sees as being pillars of her community isn't possible to hide, even if she had wanted to. It's obvious that this group of individuals are, in Haeleeya's eyes, extremely trustworthy.

Thuldor grins at Haeleeya’s pride in her friends.  “I imagine it is less a duty and more a labor of love that drives men such as you describe.  If only the world had more people like that in it.  I look forward to meeting those you describe with such pride and care.” He once again bows slightly with his hand over his heart “I thank you for the information and your hospitality, milady.  I shall take my leave now and begin to research the issues that are plaguing the area.  Should you need any assistance, please feel free to seek me out and I shall do my best to provide it.  I wish you a good day and may the grace of Lady Firehair protect you and keep you safe.”
