Nestled at the southern-most point of the town, sits a building, that aside from the bewildering profusion of doors, barrels, rotting old furniture, and tools leaning against its outside walls, looks like a private home. A small, faded sign on the front door reads “Vallivoe’s Sundries.” Rooms are crammed to the rafters with new wares and used items of all sorts.

Endrith Vallivoe is a retired caravan merchant who sells new and used goods: furniture, lamps, carpets, mirrors, weapons, shields, helms, and a little bit of everything else. Almost anything might be available to buy here, buried under heaps of other stuff, and Vallivoe carries a good running inventory in his head. He’s particularly proud of the fact that he's the only vendor in town selling blank books and parchment.

As you enter through the door, Endrith appears before you, his demeanor timid and somewhat nervous. "Well met, good sir. Welcome to my shop, Vallivoe's Sundries. Is there anything in particular you're looking for?"

There is just a hint of a stammer in his greeting, and while polite, he is obviously uneasy around strangers, as told by his avoiding eye contact.

Titan wrinkled his nose, his displeasure becoming more apparent as he passed each rotting chair or moldy carpet. He relaxed, slightly, once he reached the shelves of drier goods, and stopped clutching his jacket so tightly closed, though he still pretended to thoughtfully look around him as a guise for covering his nostrils.

As the merchant approached, Titan cocked his head. "You are Endrith?" he asked cautiously.

"I am always happy to peruse new instruments," Titan said with a wave of his hand before replacing his thumb on his chin and a finger under his nose. "However," he said in a whisper, "I believe I am also here on Harper business."

The older man's eyes took on a shine of suspicion at the whispered words from the bard before him, a small smirk appearing as he softly sung a the beginning of a relatively unknown ballad. "The night draws on and sleep is near..."

His voice trailed off, eyes fixated on the bard before him, clearly waiting for the next line - a clear challenge to the claim of being associated with the Harpers.

Titan spread his arms wide and cocked his head, surprised by excited for a musical challenge. "I draw another glass of wet cheer!" Titan sang, then continued on to return the challenge. "If I close my eyes I dream of you, and see again the high hall..."

The genuine laugh from the bard's responding challenge seemed to break the ice between the two men - Endrith broke into song alongside Titan,

As the song closed, Titan broke into a laugh alongside the merchant, the lingering smell of the rotting furniture already forgotten. Titan grinned and gripped the man's forearm in greeting. "Well met, sarkyn! Are you out here on your own? I had intended to just pass through, but I would be glad to extend my stay if you need could use some help at the shop here." Titan put his hands on his hips and surveyed the shop once more, though with a quick turn of his head that didn't linger on anything in particular in the store. "There was an old friend I had heard went out this way - intended to put down roots, but never good at anything but raising bad crops, as I recall. I wonder if he's still nearby?"

"I am indeed - my days of trying to keep up with you young 'uns are long past, thankfully. Now I keep to my shop and pass on information that seems noteworthy to those who are better positioned to transform things for the better."

The smaller man paused, obviously moving through the information he had stored away, before shaking his head. "I'm not sure, to be fair - we've seen quite a few folk come through here lately. Especially the kind that specialize in that produce. Anything that would make this particular friend stand out?"

"Just another minstrel," Titan shrugged. "Went by the name of Windharrow?"

"Windharrow...name like that would stick, you'd imagine." Endrith pauses, thinking for a moment before shaking his head. "Sadly, I don't recall any who used that moniker passing through here - nor any musician of any note before yourself. One of the reasons people round here are chattering so much about you, my boy - your performance was one they'll be proud to say they heard in person for a while."

He perches on a seat behind one of the many counters in the ramshackle shop, looking thoughtful. "Tell you what though - I'll make sure to keep my eyes and ears open for any whispers about your minstrel. A good place you might find something more would be with Constable Harburk, though. He's the area's lawman, and even more importantly, an honest one. Might be worth a visit while I see what I can dig up, if you're able to wait a few days."

Titan shrugged his shoulders. "I suppose I could swing a few days at the inn. You can find me there if you find anything out, or otherwise need my help. I'll see what this constable has to say."

"Sounds like we have a plan then. Give Kaylessa my regards - I know she's always happy to have another traveler under her roof." He reaches under the counter before him, pulling a small pad of parchment out, scribbling a note to himself. "I'll make some inquiries and requests for your minstrel. In the meantime, Harburk works out of the butcher shop, just south of where the Kheldell Path and The Cairn Road intersect with The Long Road."
