Cora leaned against the wall and then sank down to sit on the floor, apparently prepared to wait.  She closed her eyes, but focused on her hearing, trying to listen to what was being said through the door.

Fyn listened to the stilted Common of Wapi, a frown marring his face as he listened more. "She started another -" He let out a deep sigh, reaching up to rub his eyes with one gloved hand. "That woman, I swear. She's like a tempest in a teapot."

He shook his head. "Fine. We watch the ship then I guess. What a day."

Don drew in a deep breath, and closed his eyes as he held the breath and cleared his mind.

Finally, he let it out in a deep sigh. "What a damn fool. Alright, so we've lost one soldier, and might be down a few others as well, if the questioning goes long." Don considered the shift in odds, chances of success, and how fights would play out with the change in roster. Lives were on the line, and soldiers had done stupid shit that took them out of the fight. Their lives were safe, and that was good enough.

It would have to be.

If the ship were to leave, Don would not wait for the others to come back before he followed.

"Watch and wait. Just like old times."

As the lieutenant turned and walked down the second hallway, Kiana sat down beside Echo. She could barely hear the woman down the hallway in the cells telling her to have a seat so she made sure to yell really loudly back to the lieutenant. "I ALREADY TOOK A SEAT OUT HERE BUT THANK YOU FOR OFFERING ME A REST! I'M FINE HERE!"

The lieutenant turned, barely holding her anger in check. "That was not a request or offer - It's an order. Now, Get up and get in that cell."

Annica picked up Captain Trouble and looked at the departing party with some concern in her eyes. The splinter group came in and Wapi explained what happened in his halting Common, so she took on herself to explain a little better. "Wapi tracked an half-elf he saw in that temple we raided to this ship, and we think that's how they smuggle the kidnapped persons out of the city. Cora tried to bluff her way on the ship, was doing it well I think, then Kiana struck a sailor with her blade. That's when the watch arrived and took Cora, Echo and Kiana back to the barracks. I'm surprised my little ploy with Captain Trouble avoided that I got rounded up too but I'm glad. The watch lieutenant ordered the ship captain to stay put, but I would not think they will listen. I guess we need to watch the ship now. If only we could communicate with Cora! Does anyone have a way to do so?"

Kiana nudged Echo with her elbow and spoke softly. "What’s she talking about? Does she think she is going to sell me something? Or sell me to someone? Or am I supposed to be doing the selling?"

The guards may have thought she was trying to make fun of them, but a look at Kiana's perplexed face would quickly assure them that the giant had no clue what a "cell" was...

The soldiers stood there blinking as they looked at her, the lieutenant was not amused. "Stand up, and get in there." she said through a even, no nonsense tone.

Echo puts her hand gently on Kiana’s knee & says softly. They want you to go in that room until they can figure things out. We will figure this out. Being stuck in that room is punishment.” She looks at her with doe eyes, understanding that the large woman is not accustomed to this part of society.  “The arbiter will come soon.”

The raccoon chirped in answer to the halfling, and climbed down, sniffing around.

Fyn listened to Annica and gave a slow nod. "Okay. Thanks. It's helpful to have more information." He had said 'more' which was true but it also clearer information, which was also helpful.

His eyes swung back and forth between the halfling, the raccoon and the woman. After it was all done, one eyebrow rose up. "What was that all about?"

"Punishment? They have accused me and I await the chief...  er...  Arbiter... I have acted honorably thus far. It is they who have dishonored me.

They have, for some reason which I don't understand, demanded my weapons, and I have done it, though honor and custom dictates that they not be taken until after the ruling of the chie..  er...  Arbiter..." She shakes her head in confusion before looking at the lieutenant.

"I am sorry but I see no reason for sitting in that room to await the Arbiter over remaining seated here with my companion. I think I will continue waiting quietly here."

The woman looked at her with a steely glare. "Your opinion does not matter. We have told you to move, so get up and get into the cell."

The woman looked at the half orc and nodded, who sighed, shaking his head and went down teh hall, returning with a small elderly gnome in a silver robe. "What do you need liutenant?"

The woman looked at him. "this woman refuses to go to her cell. You know teh next step. The gnome looked at Kiana and shrugged. "Ok then.

He walked up to her, muttering in gnomish, then spoke, his voice had an etherial feel. Could you please stand and follow me to your cell."

The gnome frowned as he looked at her, then to the woman. She was about to speak, when a door opened and three figures came in. Two were soldiers, one a burly human, the other a goliath. The third was a dwarf with a frown. The lieutenant and the other soldiers stood to attention.

The dwarf strode up, his uniform though old was well kept. He had no weapons, but even his stride showed he didn't need it. "Kammy....what in cyric's ass cheek are ye doing? Ye were sent ter settle somethin' at th' docks and now ye stuffing around?"

The gnome smiled and looked at Kiana. "You had your chance." He muttered.

The dwarf strode up to the three and turned on them, but spoke to the lieutenant. "REPORT, DAMNIT!"

The woman sighed. "We were dispatched to the dock after words of an attack. This woman drew a weapon and attacked a sailor. She gave her weapon to her friend here and came, but refuses to go into the cell."

The dwarf then focused on Kiana. "So...ye th' troublemaker, are ye?" He put his hands on his hips. "I'm commander Brankx thunderforge, watch commander for th' day. Ye have been placed under arrest. Stand and get in th' cell"

He looked at the half orc. "Get shackles - NOW!"

He then looked at her. "Two options girl. Go in th' cell, or i put ye in there."

Annica smiled as she looked towards Fyn. "We need to search the ship, to confirm out idea, but the crew is now suspicious. So Wapi will go incognito, without implicating anyone... you see, don't you?"

Wapi nodded to Annica then stepped out of sight of the ship.  Ensuring none but friends could see him he quickly shrank to the size of a common household spider.  Quickly moving over to Captain Trouble, the spider climbed onto his back.

"Seeing someone shift like that, it never gets old. A bit creepy, but quite impressive."

“This is how things work here. This is not going to last long and it won’t go well for you if you don’t listen. Just do what they say. I really don’t want anything to happen to you. Please. I’ve seen people shot for less than this & I am not strong enough to be of any help fighting through all of these guards.”
She gives Kiana a big hug and by then end of the plea, she has tears streaming down her face.

The dwarf stood there with hands on his hips and heard echo's plea's. Despite that, Kiana seriosly thought on the matter for a moment, then stood up in silence. The half orc placed maniacles on your hands and let you to the cell, where you walked in and sat down.

The cell closed and the dwarf looked at her. "Good ter see ye came to ye senses lass. Now sit and think - th' arbiter will be here soon and we three will have a chat."

He turned and looked at Cora and Echo. "You two - follow me." His tone left no indications that it was not a question. The two women followed him down the hall and through a door.
