Scene 2-7: Pursuit Tunnel

The passage is dreary as expected in this filthy hellhole and supported by wooden beams.

I need all characters to make a DC 10 Reflex Save, please.

"This passage is a dreary, filthy hellhole," Chayce opines as they make their way through.

Chayce: 09:56, Today: Tecumseh Lane Crew rolled 10 using 1d20+1.  Chayce reflex save.
Ocrin: 09:57, Today: Tecumseh Lane Crew rolled 5 using 1d20.  Ocrin reflex save.
Shay: 09:58, Today: Tecumseh Lane Crew rolled 17 using 1d20+1.  Shay reflex save. (Shouldn't be +1 so the roll should be a 16 instead. Still passes vs. DC 10.)
Elan: 09:59, Today: Tecumseh Lane Crew rolled 4 using 1d20.  Elan reflex save.

Chayce and Shay pass. Ocrin and Elan fail.

Scene 2-7: Pursuit Tunnel

The momentary groan of rotten wooden beams is your only warning as the passageway collapses on you!

If you fail your save you take 2d6 damage. It takes 10 minutes to pull a single character free. Once collapsed, the rubble fills the tunnel, making passage impossible.

Scene 2-7: Pursuit Tunnel

Ocrin, the corn farmer, only has 1 HP and falls to his death. "Yarrrrrr..." he says as his voice trails off into the distance. His duck, however, flies free and lands on Chayce, who had carried her earlier.

"I'll take good care of her," Chayce tells Ocrin, trying to soothe his passage. The hunter strokes the duck's head and thinks of plum sauce and caramelized onions.

Shay saves himself but Elan falls and quickly spends his only 2 HP. *CRUNCH* He dies as he lived: wordlessly.

"Oi, but he had a nice sword and that armor," Shay says. "Imma gonna dig 'im out."

He starts exhuming Elan so that he can rob the corpse.

The elves easily spot the rotting beams and leap to safety, but the two humans at the back are caught unawares. Jessica is too busy checking her spyglass to spot the beam crashing into her skull.

23:18, Today: Unnameable Lane Crew rolled 16 using 1d20-1.  Mobilos reflex save.

23:18, Today: Unnameable Lane Crew rolled 5 using 2d6.  Gervaise damage.

23:18, Today: Unnameable Lane Crew rolled 8 using 1d20-1.  Gervaise reflex save.

23:17, Today: Unnameable Lane Crew rolled 6 using 2d6.  Jessica damage.

23:16, Today: Unnameable Lane Crew rolled 1 using 1d20.  Jessica reflex save.

23:16, Today: Unnameable Lane Crew rolled 20 using 1d20+1.  Alyx reflex save.

As Gervaise only failed by 2 points, I believe he can burn luck to survive, but Jessica rolled a natural 1 so I suspect she's toast.

Scene 2-7: Pursuit Tunnel

As Pyke pinwheels helplessly over the exposed pit, time seems to slow then come to a stop.

In the blink of an eye, the sorry mage comes face to face with Death itself. "Your time has come, mageling! Come to me!" says Death.

Pyke fixes Death with a look of unsullied terror. "No! I'm not ready! I'm still in my prime! Let me go! I'll do anything!" screeches Pyke.

"Anything?" asks Death, chuckling darkly.

"Erm, yes?" answers Pyke with a little less certainty.

"Then... your soul shall be mine," chortles Death, before blinking out of reality.

Time snaps back to the present and, with a loud whoop!, Pyke tumbles into the pit, his landing somewhat cushioned by the flattened remains of Jessica and Elan.

"Oof!" says Pyke, out of wind but still alive.

ooc - Pyke burns 7 points of luck to survive the fall.

The beams splitting makes Urmdrak look up, which left his throat exposed to a large splinter of wood.  It pierces his neck just before he's buried in the rocks.

Well, the dicebot obviously had it in for me.

09:45, Today: Urmdrak the Rebel rolled 10 using 2d6.  damage.
09:44, Today: Urmdrak the Rebel rolled 1 using 1d20.  reflex.

Urmdrak RIP.

Spend 10 luck to bring save to 11.


But wait!

The rocks start to stir then roll away.  Urmdrak's shield appears.  Under that, Urmdrak himself.  Between fits of coughing, he slowly gets back to his feet.  He pulls out the shard of wood.  Blood oozes from the wound, but no spurting.  A lucky miss.

He mutters as he brushes off dust and pebbles, <darkblue>"Been in worse."<darkblue>

Shay digs out Elan and takes his longsword and hide armor.

"Mmm, still warm," he says, comfortably rubbing the new armor. He chucks Elan's body back onto the pile of rubble.

"The cave-in has made this tunnel impassable!" Chayce points out unhelpfully. "We must find another way.

"Tarin! You're small and unlikely to trigger any more cave-ins. Get your halfling eyes up front and tell us what you can see in the dark."
