From the thick woods to the east, a figure in a green cloak, carrying a bow and quiver and a sword at his hip approaches the party, hand raised in greeting.

The figure pulls back his hood, revealing his elven features.

”Greetings. My lord conveys his gratitude for retrieval of the ring. The winds have carried your plight to him and he has agreed to a boon. But first, the ring, please.”

He opens his palm.

Uriwan and Katarina are so flabbergasted at seeing this figure appear and address their companion that they can do nothing but stare in amazed silence, jaws dropped!

Part 3 Scene 0 - The Rescue Mission

Jack places the signet ring in the elf’s hand. The elf examines it closely the secrets it away. He takes a circlet out of his pouch, ringed with filligreed golden vines and flowers with gems embedded within.

”This headband is enchanted with powerful elven magic. Any one who wears cannot be charmed by any enchantment. Such person who dons it will see the enchantment broken. I fact, anyone who has the spell memorized will forget it should they wear it.”

he offers it to Jack.

The elf gives a light bow.

”Please, I am no lord, but a mere page. I shall convey your thanks to my lord. Best of wishes on your quest, may the earth and water heal from this unholy taint! Farewell!

the elf adjusts his cloak and silently turns back the way he came.

Uriwan nods his head, "That's great! After you, good sirs.  Since, um... you know the way better than we do, having ventured there more often.  We'll bring up the rear and watch your backs."  He looks towards Jack and Halton, and motions toward the stinky well.

Part 3 Scene 0 - The Rescue Mission

After a quick shopping expedition Jack returns wearing new (to him) armour and weapons.
He holds out a pouch jingling with the unmistakenable sound of coins.
"I have 17gp to my name. Take this and split it up amongst yourselves to buy what equipment you need. Then we'll take the headband and rescue our friends."

Not to be outdone, Tarin stands proudly in his new gear. He opens a grubby hand revealing 9gp.
"I'm lending this out, you hear. I want it all back when we're through with this business!"

ooc - Between Jack and Tarin that works out to about 5gp, 12sp for each for
* Uriwan
* Stanis Grindenwald
* Gervaise
* Halton

Uriwan and Katarina take the coins with a slight bow towards Jack and Tarin. "Thanks much fellows!" he says, then looks around for a place to spend his new-found wealth.

(OOC: Does that mean no shopping here?  Is there anywhere we can go to spend this money... it is burning a hole in Uriwan's pocket!)

Part 3 Scene 0 - The Rescue Mission

Uriwan moans when he figures out there is nowhere to spend his not-so-hard-earned coins, "Ohhhhhhh! I guess my dagger'll have to do." He frowns at it, thinking it will *probably* cut butter.  He quietly pockets the coins.

Katarina rolls her eyes.  She looks at the well, "How do we get down this thing, anyway?  Uriwan - you have some rope, can we attach it to anything around here?"

"No, I've only got 4 pair of gloves - a fat lot of good they'll do!" says Uriwan.

Katarina thinks for a moment, "Oh yes - I have this too!" She pulls out a grappling hook.  "Can't imagine why I'm still carrying this thing around... or even why I started lugging it about in the first place.  But it may come in handy now!" She gives it to Gervaise thinking perhaps he can attach it to his rope and use it as an anchor somehow. She looks around to see if there is anything sturdy to wrap the rope around.
