Chargen and other plotting
Hi everyone! I'm excited for this game.
The Playbooks I'm wavering between are Scion and Protogé (with a maybe Legacy lurking in the wings). Each a young woman with serious family drama, each a different kind of sheltered, each concerned with untangling the infinite complexities of 1. being a hero, 2. smooching boys (and/or girls).
The Scion concept I had in mind is the heir to an old, rich, powerful family that's all steeped in Dark Lovecraftian Magics. So she would be a sorcery character as well. But for her, it's less about controlling her terrifying powers and more about figuring out what to do with them.
Do we think two magic-focused characters is too many?
Also, this is a long-standing gripe of mine, but speaking of Nova, the standard Nova playbook has always seemed an odd fit. All the other Playbooks are about your relationship to your powers, and their relationships to others. But Nova is almost like a D&D Wizard with a list of effects with no real impact on who the character is.
I made a homebrew Nova Playbook a while back and it's been used successfully in games a couple of times.
If folks are interested, I can link it?
EDIT: Moded, if you're set on Protogé, I'm happy to take that off my list and go another way. :)
