I'm done.
That doesn't stop me from endless tweaking and fuzzing about parts of my character; which I then decide to revert.

Re: OOC: The Cantina

Funny story I was actually just talking to a buddy about a sort of "double tidal lock" thing like you describe for Anemis. For basically the reasons you are describing.

I'm pretty sure that the math works out that the satellite would be so far out from the planet that it wouldn't offer notable protection from the star for any sort of earth sized planet.

Obvs doesn't matter much for Star Wars but still funny that I recently discussed it.

It is. Good to know that others share my relative logic concerning what "may" work in real life. I am by no means a physics or astronomical expert. Just a sci-fi guy. Or in this case, a space-opera guy. lol

But a lot of that comes from GMPrague. The base concept is largely different from what was posted.

I'm behind but, generally yes.

Also Between the two with me IIRC 2 advantage can pass a blue to someone specific. maybe figure out who has the lowest die pool?

Re: OOC: The Cantina

I've seen all of the Star Wars shows except Bad Batch and Resistance.  I'm one episode behind on Mando - I Do feel like S3 is getting a little bit of a slow start.

Re: OOC: The Cantina

I've kept up with all of them for the most part. Except the bad batch. For some reason I can't get into it. I though at first maybe it was because it was animated but I kept up with Rebels and Clone Wars just fine. Idk

As for the blue die, its up to you. You can edit your post to specify who it goes to.

I like how its getting started this season though. Segwaying into the larger story with the bit about the scientist and whatnot.

Rebels - S2E5 I think
Obi-Won - S1 all
Clone Wars - S2E6, perhaps.

The absolute best Star Wars show (Andor) is missing from this list.
The only possible negative thing I will say is - don't judge anything until you see at least through episode 3.  It's not paced like a show, it's paced like a movie series.  e1-e3 are a movie, e4-e6 are a movie, e7-e10 are a movie, and e11-12 wrap things up.  The arcs in episode 4-6 and 7-10 are some of the best Star Wars content out there.

Andor - Best Show.
Bad Batch - Seen all; wasn't too bad
Clone Wars - Seen all, ranging from medium to Good.
Mando - All caught up. While I didn't think S3 was slow, S3E2's droid arc was a bit superfluous.
Obi-wan - Seen 2 or 3 episodes; too many leaps of logic for me.
Rebels - Seen all.
Tales of the Jedi - Fun if you've seen the Clone Wars.
Resistance doesn't interest me.

My biggest problem with most Star Wars shows (and novels) is the 'Small Galaxy' problem. I really got into Star Wars with the original Knights of the Old Republic 1/2 games, and only there I got the feeling that the galaxy was Big, with lot's of new planets and places to explore. I still miss that feeling with most shows though.

Agreed.  Mondo took the droid down with one shot to the head originally but that episode he took, what 4-6?  Also don’t agree with how the writers went with the droid reverting back to its original programming.  If you wipe a computer, it’s wiped.

I enjoyed Obi Wan, though I kind of wish they’d started with like a smaller-stake story on tattooine rather than what they did. Andor was very good. Seen the first 2 seasons or so of Mando but not the latest one. Always been a big fan of clone wars (watched when I was a kid), enjoyed rebels too

OOC: The Cantina

I've gotten too old and grumpy to really enjoy Star Wars. Clone Wars had a handful of good episodes but so much of it was filler and too man poor writing episodes that kind of spoiled it. The ones focused on the clone soldiers were A-MAZ-ING but Anakin + Ahsoka were pretty much mary sues (remember when Ahsoka and R2-D2 outfly and outflight every top notch bounty hunter in the galaxy at the same time with no sweat?), the 3-arc "droid platoon" episodes or the one where they personified the force into a family squabble?

Yeah....just...yeah....

Rebels had the potential but then fell into the mary sue trap where the main character can do no wrong and a 12 yr old kid can run circles around the Imperial Elite. I get that its a kids show but in the original star wars Vader was portrayed as an unstoppable monster even though he only brought out his lightsaber twice. The tone and presence when he was on screen was palpable but if it was in Rebels then after his ominous introduction the heroes would drop a paint bucket on his head and escape without any consequences.

Obi-Wan suffered greatly from the fact that we *know* how the story is going to end because we know he can't die and I feel they didn't put enough emphasis on "yeah he survives, but at what cost" which is the real dropped ball from all of that.

Same with Rogue One...the question isn't whether they succeed at their mission, but at what cost. They tried to build it up as the big sacrifice at the end but I didn't really care about 90% of the characters in that movie because they jammed way way too many characters into "the squad" to really attach to. When your top characters are the comic relief droid and the silent monk things have gone off the rails :P

THe ending space battle was cool but it felt more like just fan service. The rebels should not be doing a slug-fest head-to-head fight with the imperial navy at Episode 4. I get the idea is to explain why their fleet is so small in Ep 4 but that didn't need an explanation and kind of ruins it that the reason the rebels are such plucky underdogs is because they completely squandered the resources they had.

Ugh, anyway like I said I'm too old and grumpy to enjoy anything new in star wars :P

I think pragmatic is the word you're looking for. Fiction loves its drama for drama's sake to hook that bottom line. In contrast, people like us who want to 'live' in the universe look at much of that nonsense as superfluous when better things have been done with far less.
