Vlad finishes the last one off (120xp)  The dead bugbears rise up into the air again.

Weiser performs a brief last rites for Ed, then picks his pockets.  After these solemnities are concluded, he searches the room.

The party finds a secret door out.  While looking the dead bugbears float down to 4' above the floor.  Their blood is dripping down and showing streaks of the form of something below them.

Weiser closely examines whatever it is being revealed by the dripping blood.

Without touching it, it has a wood grain, is flowing down at a raised part, perhaps a strap or ridge.  As you're looking at it, they rise back into the air, the blood drips down from 4 feet below the bugbears where the stripe ends.

Having retrieved her knife from the dead creature, Ella looks at Ed's body with a frown.  This venture had been costly in life and light on rewards.  She crouched down and looked under the floating platform and tried to see if there was a solid beam beneath it or if it was floating entirely unsupported.

Vlad wants to check if it is possible to have a hidden compartment which might hold some loot.

It's floating completely unsupported, looking from underneath gives a bit more detail with all the blood, it looks like the top of a box or chest.

Vladimir waits until it drops again and feels around, he finds a latch, which he opens, but the weight of all the bugbears makes it difficult to force open before it starts floating up again.

Will get them off on next down cycle and if we need to wait until next to empty it we will.

Let’s try to remove the dead bugbears from the lid of the chest.

It takes a few cycles and working together to get the bugbears off as they're rather large and probably weigh over 300 lbs. each.

Afterward getting it open isn't hard, It takes awhile getting the contents out.
