Sticking near the back Vellith gestured for her ogrish companion to crush the beetle.  The effects of the attempt left something to be desired; with a sigh, the red-haired wizard moved in with her glowing dagger to stab the thing.

Vellith and her captive ogre made some ineffectual attacks.

Moordenar chops the head off of one, Flit injures another.

A beetle bites Vellith (4 damage,) the one Flit injured bites air near her.

Flit kills the air that the beetle just bit.

The ogre continues to be ineffective in combat.  Vellith will stay back to drink a healing potion.

The two remaining beetles are unperturbed by the attacks and continue to try to eat the party.
One misses Vellith, the other bites Moordenar (4 damage)

At last the ogre connected with its club for a solid blow.  Vellith's own strike went awry.

Flit stabs one of the annoyingly resilient beetles.

Today: Flit rolled 16, 4 using d20+1,d4+1.  Dagger vs Beetle.

Flit and Vellith's Ogre both kill one, they don't seem to have any treasure.  (150xp)

Forward march.

Grab the 27 gp and continue on.  "We seem to be getting pretty deep into this place.  We probably don't want to go down lower in case any stairs appear," Flit comments.

"Agreed.  In fact, do you even want to go back for now?"

Vellith nodded, weary from the delve.  "No argument here," she said.
