Rt 2 - Side passage with glint, just a nail driven into the floor.

Rt 3 - Side passage with glint, the eyes of a footlong spider waiting for some pray to pass sitting on the post of a large bed in the middle of the passage.

Hadrian II gives a battle cry as he charges the would-be ambusher.

"Eat steel!"

Hadrian II shrugs, and continues as before.

R3 - Side passage to the left with a glint of light down it, it's just a trick of light.

R4 - Door, An oval room 2000 square feet with 3 doors out, a fire beetle is nudging a pottery jar filled with platinum and gold coins.

Hadrian III gives a familiar battlecry as he charges the beetle.

"Eat steel!"

11:55, Today: Hadrian III rolled 9 using 1d20+1.  To Hit.

Hadrian almost got it!  The beetle returns the favor, by also missing.

12:00, Today: Grand Master, for the NPC Beetle, rolled 7,3 using d20,d6 ((7,3)).

Hadrian III raises his sword high before forcefully bringing it down on the beetle.

12:29, Today: Hadrian III rolled 21 using 1d20+1.  To Hit.
Critical hit for 9 damage

The beetle was quite truly sliced apart.  You find the jar has 109 pp & 259 gp.

Hadrian III gathers the coins, wipes the ichor off his blade, and continues on.

(OOC, I have the SOP recorded, you don't need to post it unless you're changing it, if you want to just as a reminder to yourself that's fine.

Also 10 xp and 2 fire beetle glands from the beetle)

Rt 4 - A door leads to a 10x10' room in which stairs go down, one other door exits opposite (explore or down?)

Sounds good.

Steeling himself, Hadrian III heads down the stairs.

With his dwarven dungeon knowledge, he realizes the stairs are too long to go just one level down, it seems about right for two.  (In case he doesn't want to go to level 3.)

Hadrian III follows the stairs all the way down.

Level 3 Rt 2 - The passage comes to a door... which opens to another passage

Rt 3 - Side passage to the right

Rt 4 - The passage continues straight

Rt 5 - The passage continues straight

Hall of Doors - you find a door that enters a hall of doors.  Doors are on each side.  Going through one of the doors takes you to a 30'x30' room with no other exits, an iron trunk (heavy container) is places in the middle of the room.

You feel a sharp pain from behind, you've been backstabbed! (8 damage!)

17:04, Today: Grand Master, for the NPC thief, rolled 15,11 using d20+3,2d4+3 ((12,4,4)) got the numbers wrong there, it's +4 to hit, and just double damage. still hits and does 8.

You turn to see the black clad thief who stabbed you. The look of surprise on his eyes that you survived is priceless.

Hadrian III grunts in pain, before turning to face his attacker with his sword drawn.

"Bastard!"

The thief tries to finish Hadrian but he's much better at stabbing in the back than the front and only gets armor.


11:37, Today: Grand Master, for the NPC Thief, rolled 13,3 using d20+1,d4.  vs. Hadrian IIII.

11:40, Today: Hadrian III rolled 3 using 1d20+1.  To Hit.

Hadrian III is likewise ineffective at striking his foe.

The thief brandishes his dagger tossing it from hand to hand making feints, but no real attacks.


12:12, Today: Grand Master, for the NPC Thief, rolled 6,2 using d20+1,d4.  vs. Hadrian III r3.

Hadrian III continues hacking at the bandit with all the finesse of a drunk man swinging a lamp.

13:07, Today: Hadrian III rolled 6 using 1d20+1.  To Hit.

The thief sensing an opening strikes quickly (2 damage)

13:31, Today: Grand Master, for the NPC thief, rolled 19,2 using d20+1,d4 ((18,2)).

Hadrian III grunts and continues swinging wildly.

13:44, Today: Hadrian III rolled 3 using 1d20+1.  To Hit.

The thief stabbed true again, Hadrian III was no more.

14:35, Today: Grand Master, for the NPC Thief, rolled 21,4 using d20+1,d4 with rolls of 20,4.  vs. Hadrian III.

Four misses in a row. Man, Hadrian III had abysmal luck.

Let's get Hadrian IV going. :)

Hadrian III stretches his stiff muscles (being dead will do that to you), and re-enters the dungeon.

Hadrian goes down the stairs and down the granite passage.

Rt 2 - Dead End (assuming search)

No secret doors found, he returns to the stairs and tries again

Rt 3 - Door to a passage
Rt 4 - chamber with a passage outa dagger (2gp) lies here.

Hadrian III takes the dagger and keeps moving.

A dagger shoots from the wall when you get near where the dagger on the floor is. It hits him (3 damage)

Hadrian grumbles about stupid daggers and their stupid dagger traps before collecting both daggers and wandering off.

Rt 5 - Side passage to the right, a pair of fancy bracers are here (AC 14, don't count as armor, sell for 1500gp)

Hadrian III takes the bracers and coins and ventures down the stairs.

The stairs go down to a mine shaft.

Mines 2 - Shaft turns right
Mines 3 - Shaft turns left a dagger is here (d4 damage, thrown, sells for 2gp)

Mines 4 - Shaft continues 60'
Mines 6 - Dead end.  A secret door pops open on it's own.

Hadrian III throws one of his spare daggers through the open door to check if its safe.

The spear goes through and a blob of green slime drops on the floor from the ceiling after it does so.  The green slime is moving almost imperceptibly toward the walls.

Hadrian III grimaces at the nearly-invisible slime, before charging it with his sword drawn.

08:39, Today: Hadrian III rolled 8 using 1d8+1.  Sword Damage.

It has little defenses and Hadrian chops it to bits that no long move. (20xp)

Hadrian III shakes the goop off of his sword, and proceeds as before.

Mines 7 - The secret door goes to a room with a door continuing, a giant toad is sitting near a large pottery jar.

Stabbing everything has worked so far, so Hadrian III sees no reason why it wouldn't work again. Raising his sword, the Dwarf charges the frog.

The toad shoots Hadrian III with its tongue and pulls him into its maw chomping down (4 damage.)

Polgara and Henchman enter.  Polgara shoots it with a magic missile, Agate misses.  The Toad still lives.

Hadrian III fights for freedom from the frog while swinging his sword savagely.

18:19, Today: Hadrian III rolled 14 using 1d20+3.  To Hit.
18:20, Today: Hadrian III rolled 7 using 1d8+1.  Sword Damage.

Hadrian Finishes the toad and scrapes the tongue off him (20xp)

Polgara helps him up and points to the jar...."Go halves?" she asks, and splits it with him before moving on.

There was 2109 sp, 525 gp in the jar.

Hadrian III collects his half of the winnings and moves on.

Mines 8 - The door opens to a shaft, a bandit carrying a small end table and a bludgeon is there.

Hadrian III approaches while readying his sword.

"What's the table for, laddie?"

The Dwarf brings his sword down on the bandit once he closes the distance.

10:28, Today: Hadrian III rolled 21 using 1d20+3.  To Hit.
10:29, Today: Hadrian III rolled 3 using 1d8+1.  Sword Damage.

"Are you looking at my table?! You're looking at my table!  No one looks at my table!" He pulls his bludgeon back to strike, but Hadrian cuts him down.

He had a table (furniture, heavy, 20gp.) (20xp)

Hadrian III kicks the fallen man's table out of the way.

"Stupid table."

The Dwarf cleans off his sword, and continues on his way.

Mines 9 - Shaft continues, a giant toad is menacing the way forward.

Hadrian III raises his sword and charges once more, but the constant combat seems to be wearing the Dwarf down.

The toad survives the attack and returns the favor, grabbing Hadrian with it's tongue and chomping down (4 damage)

Hadrian III grumbles a slew of insults before striking with his sword again.

23:37, Today: Hadrian III rolled 6 using 1d8+1.  Sword Damage.

Hadrian's solid attack finishes off the toad. (20xp)

Hadrian III will take the stairs down.

The stairs take Hadrian III down to a dungeon with bas relief walls.

Bas Relief 2 - Dead end (can eat to recover hp)

After resting Hadrian finds a secret door

Bas Relief 3 - Stairs up (assuming you coninue as no further injuries yet)

Bas Relief 4 - Passage turns left
Bas Relief 5 - Hadrian III meets party B

Hadrian III nods politely, and continues on.

Bas Relief 6 - Door to a dead end room a dagger (d4, +1 to hit with high dex, sells for 2gp) lies on the floor.

After resting (and eating if he wants)

He searches the whole room and at last finds a secret door, only to open it to find a robber wearing chainmail, who has a bludgeon.

Hadrian III stares at the robber across from him for a moment, before charging with his sword.

The bandit's made of tough stuff and survives a gash to his upper left thigh.  He tries to retaliate, but completely misses Hadrian.

Hadrian III swings again; just as ineffectively as the first time.

15:40, Today: Hadrian III rolled 2 using 1d8+1.  Sword Damage.

The bandit rolls with the blow and keeps fighting, but poorly as he completely misses Hadrian III again.
