New Item-Smoke Bombs
Come in various flavors.
Common Smoke- Produces a thick smoke comparable to a large campfire. The smoke does not hamper breathing unless released in an enclosed, unventillated area. Common smoke will cover a 30'x30' area, causing a -2 to any vision based activity (including combat). Smoke will usually dissipate in 3 rounds. Strong winds or cross breezes will shorten the duration.
Colored Smoke- A stronger version of Common Smoke. The smoke is thicker, allowing it to better resist dissipation from cross winds. Duration of the smoke is 5 rounds. Strong winds may still effect the smoke.
The smoke is also colored, the exact color determined when the bomb is brewed. Visual activity is at -2. If the color of the smoke matches the color of the environment (for example, a green smoke released in a dense forest), it causes a "whiteout" and results in a stronger visual impairment (-4 as per full darkness). If the color is at great odds with it's environment (green smoke set off against a stark white glacier), the visual penalty is lessened (-1 for the duration).
Will O' Wisp Smoke or WOW Smoke. Smoke cloud is smaller 20'x20'. However the smoke is filled with small embers. The embers ignite when the bomb is first dropped.
During the first round, the embers are hot enough to singe flesh (2 pts damage vs characers without armor, 1 pt. vs targets wearing any kind of standard armore) and will ignite any easily flammable source (cup of lantern oil that is uncovered).
From the second round until the cloud dissapates, the embers will be hot enough to interfere with heat vision.
Visual impairment for those with heat vision is at -4. Regular vision impairment -2. Cloud lasts 3 rds. Cloud is susceptible to wind or breeze as with Common Smoke.
Pepper Smoke - As per Common Smoke, but the smoke contains an irritant that from the second round onwards will cause targets to choke and cough. Each round they are under the effect, the targets must make a TOU test 7- or be seized by violent cough for the round which will inflict a -4 penalty for that round only. This penalty supersedes the -2 visual impairment penalty from the smoke.
Targets may declare that they are holding their breath to counter the effect. But such a declaration must occur before the target in engulfed in the smoke cloud. And the target must block their mouth and nostrils. Once they are engulfed, it is assumed they have taken some of the irritant in through their nose or mouth.
Cloud covers a 30'x30' area for 3 rounds. Winds effect it as per normal.
