Working on character sheets now and I'm curious how the willpower mechanic works and if it is similar to vitae. Kinda like how Humanity in a lot of WoD is mental health and when it ticks to zero, something nasty happens.
I assume that our vitae stat determines how much we start with and then it ticks down to zero when our characters take damage. However, is willpower similar or more a pool of dice we draw from for certain rolls?
The reason I ask is I'm trying to figure out the best way to keep track of player stats during threads. Especially since there are multiple threads. My initial idea was to have individual tables for each scene a character is in. See below:
THREAD TITLE |
---|
VITALITY | ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ | WILLPOWER | ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ |
|
When someone takes damage in a thread then it would be updated to look like this:
THREAD TITLE |
---|
VITALITY | ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◇ ◇ | WILLPOWER | ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ |
|
However, if Willpower is more a dice pool, then it might be better to find a different way to determine where vitae is for each person at any given time. I've had players keep track in their little character Biography tab when they post, but if people are in multiple threads, that could get messy. Therefore the individual tables are usually my go-to when players are playing in multiple scenes.
Update: See that they both act like dice pools. However, still curious if they depleate at all w/ damage, and that effects the pool, like Numenera system or something.
