Re: [OOC]La Fleur de la Mort
Okay, so. I've got myself a coterie here. I've closed the game to new players at the moment (tentatively; if I get a character that really intrigues me that may change).
I have also changed the game to a "Mature" rating, because I'd forgotten to do that before, what I'd written in the rules notwithstanding.
Anyway, we have 6 at the moment, with a 7th possible (depending on his/her response to my query). Given that we're writing a story together, I think it's fair that we know what we're working with. At present, the party looks like this:
Assamite
Cappadocian
Gangrel
Nosferatu
Ventrue
TBD (Schrödinger's clan?)
I would offer character concepts as well, but they're sorta all over the place, length-wise (ranging from TBD to multiple paragraphs). The Path spread at present is:
Path of Chivalry
Path of Community
Path of the Eightfold Wheel (Druidism - a first for me!)
Road of Humanity (x2)
So, what does that mean for you? Not much, really. Just fax, yo.
What does matter, however, is that I have made a determination about the group's patron. That information, too, helps you in no way shape, or form.
What does matter to you is what I need from you: your personal patron. Unless you decide on an alternative mentor (and the Mentor background), I will assume your personal patron is your sire. What is the difference between the personal patron and the group patron? Well, that's an easy one - the group patron is the cause of everything that happens in the chronicle, while the personal patron is the guy who knew enough to send you to deal with him. For example:
Billy Brujah was embraced by Bob Brujah. Unfortunately, Bob isn't a very nice sire, but Victor Ventrue sees a way to undermine Bob and has taken Billy under his wing (acting as a Mentor). Victor (the personal patron) wants his new pawn to be more powerful, so he sends Billy to see Tom Tzimisce (the group patron), where he meets his new coterie-mates, Amy Assamite, Carl Cappadocian, and Sam Salubri.
Another thing to consider: languages. At present (and this is just my understanding - I may be wrong) I believe we have native languages of German, Baltic (Polish), Italian (?), Arabic (?), and possibly others. There are a few ways to go with this. The best option might be to take the Lingua Franca Merit (1 point), representing a sort of pidging German trade-language - this would default to pretty much every language in the area (German at 5, the others at 6). This would also allow you to get away without having the pidgin Linda Franca - assuming you have one of the appropriate languages (although rolls would still be required for more difficult concepts, I wouldn't require it for common things).
