Re: OOC

Sorry, DM! I thought I was just readying my weapon at this point. Does this still count as the surprise round, or did we move beyond that and into the first?

Re: OOC

So the Tiny Dungeon has a lovely initiative system I actually stole and used in my D&D games in a similar form.

Initiative in Tiny Dungeon isn't a 'who gets to act when' kind of a deal. Rather its a 'who gets to act in a round before the monsters do' deal.  All the players make the test and then this is the order of play:

First: All the players that passed the test act
Second: The monsters act
Third: All the players can act regardless of the test results.
Repeat septs 2 and 3 as needed.

Re: OOC

? On casting spells, is it 2d6 or 3d6 since we have skill in it. Saw we make test for it, success goes as planned fail might work but modified or whatever DM Throws out. Also casting spell one action or what, can we use focus for spells too.

Love the game so far

Re: OOC

Great system for initiative.

Any who make roll act first, then mobs then all pc's.

Really going to love this game, hope the party isn't afraid of me after this round. With my planned actions.

Oooh so you're using Witchcraft/Wizardry. This is the 'magic-user' or arcane type of magic in the world. The spells are actually energies captured from another realm and stored in your head until unleashed. To unleash them, you make a standard test, no advantage or disadvantage (I mean, im sure there might be times those apply, but not normally).  Success - the spell goes off without a hitch... Fail, and the Dread gets to make up some 'yes but' situations. Roll really poorly and the Dread gets to be sadistic (I'm praying for snake eyes!).

Re: OOC

Ok 2d6 for my spell got it, can I use focus to channel it better giving the 4,5,6 success or no focus for 5,6.

On my phone today, 12 hour work shift so forgive the post or posts. DM will need to verify rolls in roller but I will include result in post.

Re: OOC

Oh yes, sure. Sorry. Yes you can use a focus action to increase the chances of a successful casting.

Re: OOC

With that as a guide, I would be inclined to vomit it at my 3. Which would be the 3 stealing from the wagon ad my initial point of impact. Hopefully to spread later but wanting those three to feel it first.

Was that a good enough description of how to cast that spell. Thought it would add some color, instead of just casting a spell.

Re: OOC

Ahhh... so you can use Focus for other TESTs other than ATTACKs?

So could I also use Focus and Evade to use 2d6 (from shield) and get success on 4, 5 or 6?

Sure, when it makes sense for a 'focusing' action - like aiming or spending extra time on casting spells. Yes, I think evading and focusing could be used together for what could be termed 'the Giant tortoise maneuver...

I know its the weirdest time of the year, so I'm holding off updating for Brigid and Buckland to post. I'll update tomorrow, regardless. I know what this time of the year is like for people's schedules.
