Count Cauchemar
This white tiger-headed rakshasa is a lover of finery, luxury, and novelty, but above all he is a lover of coin. He adheres to a sect called the Hidden Hand, which believes that wealth (usually material, but possibly immaterial) and its acquisition is the most important thing in the multiverse. Friendly, urbane, and firmly believing one has to spend money to make money, the count is unusually open-handed compared to his fellow misers, meaning he has more friends than most.
You are one such friend. It doesn't take much to receive regular invitations to the rakshasa's dinner parties. He hosts many small-scale affairs for those who have done odd jobs for him or with whom he's struck up chance conversations at the marketplace. Because his guest lists are built more for variety than elitism, they are a good place for even those of humbler origins and means to network. And the food is
always top-notch... if sometimes a little
too exotic.
Most of his get-togethers are hosted at a warehouse that he no longer uses for business. The decor changes frequently, most of it being illusory to begin with. Attached is small safehouse that he uses to host adventuring parties to whom he owes a favor and are in need of long-term lodging.
While his backwards hands are dipped in many pies, the Trader of Horrors focuses primarily on dealings with his own kind, managing a network between the rakshasa of various prime worlds and the rakshasa kingdoms hidden on Acheron. His specialties include exotic goods and artwork from prime cultures, strange comestibles from throughout the multiverse, and crystallized nightmares, phobias, and other expressions of fear.
