RTJ, character creation and house rules.

RTJ -
Submit your char. idea (a brief synopsis), along with a description. I'd also like a piece of lore to be incorporated into the world. This can be big things like a brief description of a country, an important npc or organisation, or significant event. It could also be smaller things like a town or village, an important site, or a not so important npc.
This will help expand the world in game and hopefully give players the sense of greater ownership of the game.

Char. creation -
All char's start at lvl 2, and the game will use milestone experience for subsequent levels.  They will also start with either standard class equipment or gold as per the PHB.

Ability scores for characters will use the points buy system from the PHB.

Hit points will be at maximum for the first level and rolled for each level beyond. Players will be able to reroll their hit points once if they're unhappy with the initial result, but must keep the second roll.

The game will be using the standard core books, as well as Tasha's Cauldron, Xanathar's Guide and the Monsters of the Multiverse with the following caveat. The game is meant to be grounded in some of the older fantasy tropes, so extraplanar elves and sentient robots, while cool, are less likely to be considered.

Both multiclassing and feats is fine.

Homebrew rules -
Players will not need to track encumbrance. So long as this is not abused in game, we will be using a common sense approach to weight and storage.

The game will also allow potions to be used as a bonus action.
