The Road to Darkwood (0.1)

The carriage rolls and rumbles on the uneven road, making decent time despite the unkempt look of things. The coachman, a weather beaten man with white hair and piercing blue eyes, was the only one willing to travel the bandit-infested roads.

Darkwood was a land known for exporting natural ironwood. With such a lucrative business, it was strange to see the main roads in such disrepair. It may have something to do with why you were here though. The citizenry of Darkwood revolted, apparently burning the previous lord alive in his manor and, as is custom, the kingdom sent you to resolve the issues that lead to the revolt.

The reward for this job is a title of nobility for each of you and the deed to the town of Darkwood itself.

The Road to Darkwood (0.1)

Ama stood to flex his legs but was covered head to toe. Full mantle cloak, white mask with smoked lenses, even his hands had been wrapped and gloved for when he reached for things. Like any other ginger the sun was not his friend and he made sure there was no conflict with the day star.

But still he stretched with all his crackly bones. "Hell and high water it is good to be still for a moment. I am not a very social person so talking to any kind of revolutionary may not go well for me. Anyone more gregarious than I?"

The Road to Darkwood (0.1)

Chess ala'riina didn't say much whilst riding in the carriage, she did look over to Amadeus every now and then without a word.  There surely was a bit of an um-comfortableness riding in such a small space with everyone for such a long period of time.

As they got closer to Darkwood she wanted to see more of the land and where this drastically deed of burning the former Lord in his manor.  Once the carriage stopped and Ama exited first she followed suit and scanned the area.

This place wasn't well known for any mage towers so she thought of converting the late manor into her estate when the task was completed and they were offered deed.

Standing in the woods was a very well figured female form with the hood of her cloak over her head allowing the darkness to hide most of the top of her face.  The light wasn't as pleasant to her as it may be to many.  Well expect for Amadeus, who surely looked to be hiding every bit of his body from the rays of the sun.

She smirked at Ama's comment/question "I may be but I don't think the people of this town would wish to tell me all their secrets. her eyes looked over at the others as they exited the carriage.

12:12, Today: Chess ala'riina rolled 11 using 1d20+5.  Perception.

"We will just have to find some means to get them to open up then." He smiled but it wasnt something to be seen through the mask. "I am Amadeus everyone, most people just call me Ama. I study verboten lore to the best of my ability. A real fire with fire kind of person. I will do just about anything to get the mission done outside of hurting the innocent or fighting on holy ground. Outside of that count on a bit of offensive magic from me."

The Road to Darkwood (0.1)

The Colony had remained completely still and silent as a statue the entire trip. Now that the wagon made a stop, they stepped off gauging the area around them and taking in the comments and questions of the others. The druid wore a cloak made of interlaced leaves and vines over a body covered in armor made of pearlescent white scales that seemed to be embedded in their body more than being worn on top. Gauntlets made of a strange almost skin like material grasped both hilts of the scimitar and sickle that hung from their belt. The hood of the cloak covered it’s head while a placid expression mask of white oak covered their face.

“We are The Colony. We are one with the world and the animals that dwell within it. We are able to calm the beast, control the plants, and heal the wounded. We are capable of fighting near and far. We are not most skilled at talking to people. We are most accepted when we offer magic food and making their crops plentiful.”

14:23, Today: The Colony rolled 3 using 1d4.  Guidance on perception roll.
14:23, Today: The Colony rolled 23 using 1d20+8.  Perception.

Perception roll total is 26.

See it’s not Groot. They don’t say “I am” lol.

The Road to Darkwood (0.1)

Valkora took her seat on the end of the driver's bench, one foot propped up on the front boot while the other dangled off the side.  Her posture appeared relaxed, but her yellow-slitted eyes remained vigilant in the shade of her drawn-up hood.  She made no effort to conceal the two sizable weapons strapped to her back, one bearing a pommel in the image of a hissing serpent.

Amadeus's remark about finding a way to get the rebels to open up elicited a snort of amusement from the formidable woman.  She remarked in her husky tone, "I can absolutely open up some rebels, but the main secret that'll reveal is the look of their vitals.  Might be that's not the approach you hoped to lead with."  She leaned out to peer first ahead of the carriage then behind, then said, "I am inclined to hear the rebel's side of the tale, first.  Our job was to solve the problem that led to the revolt, right?  Could be the old lord was the problem, in which case the townsfolk already solved it.  Then the problem becomes what comes next."  Valkora turned a sharp-toothed smirk back to the others and added, "That's where we come in, because what's next is us."

She turned a sidelong glance at the Colony, a creature that she hadn't quite figured out yet.  Valkora added, "Food, right.  Things go better on a full belly, I find."  Valkora sat up on the bench and loudly sniffed at the air.
