Tanique smiled pleasantly
"I was flying around on the way to Amber and I think I might have gotten too close to where Benedict's men were playing.   I hadn't realized that they were this far, I'll admit"

Julian looks at her as if she is a little girl again.

"First and I want you to be one hundred percent honest with the following questions. Did I not warn you of going to Amber the normal ways and staying out of the air ?  And did you or did you not invite me to some function in Storm Castle ?"

Ariadne seemed hurt
"I'm always honest with you, Father.  I have no reason not to be.   Yes, you warned me, so I was planning on staying out of Amber proper, but I hadn't realized that the difficulties were quite this far away.  And it was the fault of these men that I'm still here.  I was content to just leave, but they insisted"

He waits to see if she will answer his second question.

"I can see the men there. You haven't answered all my questions."

Tanique looked confused.
"What other questions?"

"I trumped you, so I reached you. I am going to bring you to me to make sure a double of you is not running about. I have to tell my brother now that yes indeed his dragon riders did stop my real daughter. My questions were only two daughter, the one about the troubles facing Amber necessitating a more war like stance. The other was about inviting me to a social event at Storm Castle."

Tanique raised an eyebrow.

"You don't have to bring me through the trump, Father.  I can get back perfectly fine on my own.  Plus, I have Thunderstryke with me.
And Yes, You told me about the war like situation in Amber, which was why I was looking around in where I thought it wouldn't have reached yet, to see what wasl =going on.  And I'm not sure why you're asking that second question.

"Your not an airhead Tanique ! I ask you things for reasons. Why you are now being evasive over it is suspect. It's not like there are people out there who can take on familial appearance and take advantage of it. Oh wait, yes there are. I will let Benedict know it is you since he most likely has weapons trained on you. Don't do anything I will be speaking with you soon." He clips the trump down.

Tanique sighed.  She'd meant to only look around, since she was curious about things, but now Father was upset.  This was why she didn't hang out in Amber so much.  They were such sour pusses there.

The dragon rider after a short time motions, "Your free to travel, Lady Tanique sorry for the inconvenience."

He will make way for her to do what she wishes to do.

She thanks the soldiers and heads home.  She's reminded why the straight laced obsessive order of Amber gets tiresome sometimes.

Thunderstrike, "We could have taken at least one of them." said conversationally as they head back home.

The way is clear as she heads back no one stopping her as she leaves this shadow.
Soon she is among the many shadows making her way back to the Crech. It is easy for her to follow back the way she came. It is late eve when she sees the mountains of the Crech and she knows it is very cold at night among the peaks and above them. While she is protected from the brunt of it especially the winds it is still very cold.

She enjoys the cool wind to calm her down from being delayed by the soldiers.  She understood wanting to be careful, but being so slow was just annoying.

She headed for home

Ellika is on the otherside of the mountains with the border patrols most likely knowing she would be returning, and she waves you down.

Sending her men to brew some tea. She has a fur cloak waiting for Tanique as well.

Tanique came to join her mother

"My patrol saw you leaving this morning, where did you go ?"

She wraps the fur cloak around her daughter, "You know how cold the heights get towards night." She shakes her head.

Tanique nodded her thanks.

"I flew towards Amber, to see if there were any disturbances nearby.  I guess I got closer than I'd realized, because Benedict's soldiers pulled me over for questioning.
They were very sweet, though"

"You know your father suspects shapeshifters and nefarious things. The things he has told me about his family and Amber's past I can't blame him. He will probably grill you to make sure you are you. He will want to know he has truly been talking with his daughter. I am glad your uncles' soldiers were nice. I am also glad you maintained a level head and didn't blast them with lightning like our monarch probably would have." She laughs lightly.

"In all seriousness your father was very concerned, and You know when it comes to you he cares very much. So see anything interesting while out and about?"

In reply to Ellika Stormborn (msg # 134):

Tanique nodded at hearing her father's concerns and his caring, smiling in appreciation. Then she looked up as she remembered something.
"Oh!  There was a dark vehicle, from Chaos, I think, on a black road headed this way.  Possibly two days out."

"That matches with what the Herald said and what my little birdies reported. I suppose next time they will take a flying way here. Still those mountains serve as a very good first line of defense and I am glad to have them and remind even Chaos war with us would not be easy should they ever think of such things. Thank you daughter. Speaking of that Herald, poor boy went pale as my owl when your father went to speak with him. Seems your father's legend proceeds him."
