Nodding, Tanique grinned
"I'd be happy to stick around.   I'm looking forward to meeting the people from Chaos.  They're always so entertaining "

"Entertaining is a word for it. I hope they send someone that is a bit more then entertaining. I have enough jesters and jugglers." She laughs filling the throne room with it.

"Good they should be arriving within a week, so there is more then enough time to prepare as you may. Your mother already knows to be wary since trust is earned and they have not earned it yet."

Tanique nodded.
"I'll be ready.   What do you have planned?"

"Well, I am sure it will be a standard diplomatic mission and visit. I would like you to just be at hand. There will be some meals, some talks, I would like you to be there for what you can be as a Lady of Storms. Your Amber status they will know at least the smart ones and that will provide a nice balance to any offers they make. We will set some time aside for our own meals and things just to forestall them, always good to keep them on their toes."

Tanique smiled, though she was never entirely thrilled about being a living deterrent, her presence allowing others to infer that Amber was watching.  Still, it was the price one paid for the privilege she'd grown accustomed to.

"Do you think they'd like a ride on some storm horses?  Or would that seem mundane to them?"

"They might enjoy that, at least some of them, and even for those from Chaos I hardly think it would be considered passé for the younger among them. At one time the fury of the storms harried the armies of Amber to the very gates of the Courts. We are hardly mundane, Lady Tanique." She smiled again and almost leapt from the throne the air catching her as she landed before the throne.

"Now, on a more personal note, how have things been with you ?"

Nodding, Tanique grinned
"I'll get a ride organized, ma'am."
She chuckled at the queens enthusiasm at dismounting the throne.
"I'm doing okay.   i got back from my hunting trip with father last month, and I've been practicing what he taught me about stalking prey and following tracks. in the outer woods.  I think I've figured out how to track flying things thru the air.  It's all very exciting "

"Really, now that does interest me, that is a trick I would like our own scouts to be able to learn."

She made sure as they walked to signal to a servant, "Have some tea prepared for us, we will take it on the crimson balcony." Turning back to Tanique, "So then how is your father ?" Her jaw held more rigidity to it than normal as she mentioned your father.

Tanique noticed that slight change in her ruler's demeanor,  as well as the almost imperceptible drop in temperature
   She smiled gently
"He hasn't changed much.  You know him, as steady as the mountains."
She paused and snuck a grin at her sovereign

"I thought he rather had his fill of feathers since last time, though your mother surprised us all and found perhaps an even greater battle winning your fathers heart then winning in battle against him. His brother seemed nice though, what's his name Ger ard ? Will he be coming along ?"

Tanique almost raised an amused eyebrow at the "subtle" question of her queen, but kept a straight face.   She smiled innocently.
"I'm not sure.   Julian had talked about this place, with the endless treeline and cloudy hunting grounds, to several of his brothers, but I'm not sure if they were impressed or being polite.   What did the invitation say?  Perhaps i can say something, on the side, if you think a few more Amberites would help dinner.  Uncle Gerard is definitely a fun dinner guest.   He can be a bit bawdy at times, but is always entertaining. "

"Well, for the future if your father visits and he sees fit to let you know, you could send word to your uncle Gerard he if welcome to visit with his brother again. Well, as long as he doesn't tussel with our heraldric symbol." She smiles.

"He impressed me last I saw him."  She then narrowed her eyes slightly, "Your father wishes to hunt here, perhaps you could bring something in worthy of him. I know in all the worlds that hunters are as much as I am not in favor of the phrase, shadows of him."

She walked along heading them both towards the crimson balcony.
A table set for tea was already waiting for them.

Tanique smiled as she followed her queen
"I doubt i could find anything in Shadow that would be a challenge for him, truly, but he might appreciate the effort "

She took a seat

"I know, I could find something he could never find !" Then her excited face looks across at you and calms.

"No, no your right. Perhaps best to let you handle finding something."

She makes busy stirring her tea and adding some honey.

Tanique grinned conspiratorially and shrugged
"Despite being rather independent minded, I'm sure Father wouldn't begrudge me a bit of help in trying to stump him.  What did you have in mind?"

"A Sense of humor." She waves her hand dismissively, "A bad joke I know but if it had legs or wings, or flippers it could evade him."

Tanique shrugged but smiled, knowing that she got her sense of humor from neither parent
"Something totally waterborne or in the air might evade him, certainly.  Though he's very, very good"

Morrigan laughs and points her spoon at Tanique, "Oh see now you, you would have found it!" She smiles.

Tanique grinned.
"Perhaps.   I'm getting better at seeing traces of things usually unseen.   It's almost more of an artform than a science.  I look forward to seeing Father in action "

"That is indeed a good artform to become more competent in. Just as the wind flows all about us sometimes unseen events stir things in our lives. If you can keep track of such things then you would be caught off guard less and in demand even more."

Morrigan drank her tea and looked from their view from the balcony.

"It's going to be a lovely day. Well as long as we allow it."

Tanique nodded in agreement, and sopped her tea
"A storm can be refreshing and invigorating, but there's nothing so relaxing as a lovely day in the sun"

She'd heard a saying out in Shadow while traveling with her father.  It went "Everyone complained about the weather, but no one did anything about it"
Tanique still chuckled at that one

"So I have some meetings I have to deal with in a bit but should you need me just speak with any of the messenger servants and it will get to me. I don't know how showy these meetings with the Courts will be though I imagine it will be anything but casual. So, if you wish to dress up a bit in more then the armor I usually get to see you in. Now is your chance to go out and find some things to really wow the guests, and your mother."

Morrigan finished up her tea. Closing her eyes and making light Mmmmm sounds.

Finishing her tea, Tanique smiled and stood, sensing the dismissal.
"Thank you,  ma'am.   I'll keep you informed as needed.  It's been a lovely chat.  I appreciate your time."

She heads to her bungalow in the outskirts of the kingdom to plan a trip into shadow.
