Liya chuckled, “Sounds good.  Would you like to join us for a bit?”

"I have some fires burning back home, but I simply had to see this. Trust me when I say this, it is not every day you run across something like this. I will remain until you and Bastion work out whatever deal you might make. He might do it simply because it catches his attention too. I mean it is odd and you did see people using it they have to be coming from and going too somewhere."

She nodded in agreement. “I was thinking that too.” Liya describes the two carriages she saw before, “They seemed to be in a hurry.”

"Perhaps we should back away from it for now incase more come along it. I notice it seems to have an effect on the local world too. Corrupting it, or warping it in some way."

Violet backs away from the road, keeping it in sight but where it is harder to see her. Urging Liya to follow her.

Liya steps back beside Violet keeping an eye on the road as well.

"Hello, Liya. I am ready to come to you if you are able to bring me forth."

She holds her hand out and pulls Bastion to her.  “Thank you for coming Bastion.”

"Two lovely ladies out causing trouble on the cosmos, how is a guy to resist? I knew you were trouble from the moment I saw you." He smiles.

"Hello Violet, nice to see you are looking out for your protege. Now let's see what the fuss is all about." Bastion focuses concentrating and looking around quickly turning his gaze towards the black road.

"Liya, I have to give it to you, first time out and you find something like this. Your either really lucky or the opposite. I am hoping for really lucky."

Liya laughed then shrugged. “I hope you’re right about me being lucky. But I guess we’ll find out soon enough.”

"That's the spirit! That thing is affecting the local world. Making it dangerous to be around."

He continues to study the Black Road not getting too close.

"That is why we smart ladies are back here. I hope you will go with Liya then ?" Violet says sashaying over to Bastion.
"It would be nice of you to keep her safe, she is so new to all of this."

"Lords Violet, you going to flutter your eyelashes too? I'm here aren't I?" He shakes his head a bit looking at her.

"I will talk with Liya, about things." Turning to Liya, "Liya you get a chance to use the tutorial on the ring ?"

Violet smiles, "Only if I have to. You two keep me in the know. You have my trump, if you get in trouble use it." she takes out her trump deck and pulls out a card.

"I will be at home for now." she fades out in the blakish red hiss normal to these trumps.

Liya smiled at the banter between Bastion and Violet. “Take care Violet. We’ll let you know what we find.”

She turned to Bastion after Violet left. “Not yet. I barely finished dinner before I started following the road.”

"Alright, I can teach you about it myself then. It has spells already in it, and it can cast them but you still need to learn at the minimum some basics. Like there are some spells that work like the trumps and can whisk you to safety, but you need to set it up before hand. Like right now you can set it up so you will be brought here or we can go someplace you would rather appear when you teleport. That's the magicky term for it. It has three escape spells like that. Two will bring you with your clothes and what your holding but if someone is holding you it will bring them along. The other will send you nude, though the ring will stay with you. That is handy if you want to leave behind something nasty grappling you. So let's handle those first and have a safe place for you to get too. I thought you might have listened to the tutorial and so set it up to reappear in Violet's kingdom. Nope, your so like a guy and don't read the directions." He laughs.

"There are some attack spells, I will show you how to aim with those, but first let's set up a safe place for you to zip back to in case you need too."

Liya laughed and shook her head. “I just got distracted by something shiny.”

“I think setting up a safe place in Violet’s kingdom is a good idea. Although, a hot springs somewhere private is better for if I have to go nude.”

"Ok this is what you need to do with the ring to set up locations. I can wait here if you want to contact violet, or we could try and find springs on the way. Though who knows where this thing leads."

He goes over how to set up the destination setting for the spells in the ring.

“Let’s follow this for a while and find the springs along the way.”

Bastion nods, "Sounds good, I will watch your back. You lead I will keep my eyes open as we travel. If I call a halt take it to heart that I am doing it for a reason. Since we are going to be moving let me show you how to aim and select targets for the spells. You have some lightning bolts, which are pretty cool, a couple non lethal sleep spells single target on those, that should be good for now."

He waits for her to lead and follows being observant as they travel.

Liya listens to his instructions on the ring and its spells very seriously. She begins leading the way along the black road at a safe distance.

You travel many worlds the road leads quite some distance. The worlds change erratically not smoothly from one change to another. Instead, it is like the road just jumps from world to world. The different ways the road seems to protect itself changed from world to world.
Sometimes a small wall formed on either side of it. Sometimes spikes, poisoness plants, sometimes a low lying fog.

Suddenly you hear Bastion, "Hold up, next world there are some weird animals around the road they look dangerous." He draws his sword.
"Just in case." He then nods at her again.

Liya stops and draws her sword and pistol as well and continues on cautiously.  “Don’t worry Bastion, I’ve got your back,” smiles.

Starts laughing, "Good to know, I get into all kinds of trouble on my own."

Sure enough the next world over there are some ugly looking canine like creatures near the black road. They look like medium sized dogs with bristly hair something like porcupine quills more then proper hair. Their heads are large and oversized. They start to sniff the air when Liya shows up.

There are five of them visible by the road. She notes they have eyesockets but she doesn't see eyes.

They growl very lightly.

She laughed as the pair made their way into the next world.

She stopped as soon as the creatures catch her scent. Quietly she turns to Basrion, “How many times can I shoot this before I have to reload? I’m not familiar with pistols really, and I do t think this fencing foil is going to work well against these things.”

Liya’s eyes widened with excitement as she smiled “I could use the lightning bolt spell.”
