On some levels, it feels like you were just here, walking the long armature tube from ship to station, now from station to ship -
But this time is different. This time, this is your first time as a pilot officer heading into battle.
You can see your Marauder through the long oval viewports of the armature. Sleek she looks; both fixed and nimble guns, turbolasers and tractors. You might wonder why no ion cannons- or you might not. But as a cutter, you know that any pirates, rebels or smugglers you caught up with would be ruing the day for sure...
'Left queue for enlisted, right for officers' the p.a. system went.
Depending on when you arrive, you might be with others or not; at the officer's checkpoint Warrant Officer Ontra takes your code cylinder. "Welcome to the Myrmidon Sir." He says with a smile, tapping the screens. "A lot of new pilots, this should be interesting. Captain will give an address over the ship's speakers at 0615. We'll be jumping to hyper at 0610, so please be prepared for that. Comlink channel 8B is for me and my team, additional comlink channels are in the Myrmidon SOB, classified comlink channels, if you have, are in your datapad, under new orders." He taps some more screens.
"Hmm, bit tight, this time out. But retro engineering has added some space at the cost of privacy. You're billet is now a quad with a small private washroom. It's tight, so if you need to stow one of your bags - if you have two - just let me know." He hands the cylinder back. "Straight through, second left, turbolift to C deck, midships, billet 5. Clear Stars, Pilot; welcome aboard."
