After a few more hours in orbit, the Captain comes on ship speakers:

"Officers and Crew of the Myrmidon, we have clearance to land at Marisee Prime.  This is an off-schedule port call owing to the most recent encounter, so we are not here long.  There may be some shore leave for select units, but given the nature of our visit, and the temperament of the populus, I will reenforce what your commanding officers will tell you - best behaviors only.  Well done, Myrimidon, Captain Out."


And shortly after that, Sallin is in your earbuds and on your data pad - at the next turn of the watch, 0800, meeting in the hanger (aka flight deck or F Deck).

Once all are in

"OK squad.  We gotsaget a better name... Listen up.  Good teamwork yesterday.  Good shooting, good work.  Two TIEs down, though, and Zam we won't see for a week or so at least.  So that ain't great.  But the rest of it was.  We'll want to replay some of that on the simulators, and we'll all whiteboard the plane of battle as well.  But let's get to the good stuff.  I have reports from some of you but not all.  I'm going to need 'em, and you're going to want to give'em, becaus if you have yours in, you have a shore leave until 23:59 tonight.  Cap is strict, I hear.  It'll be hell to pay if you're not aboard by then.  Tomorrow, probably the same thing.  Once we get the new TIE and pilot, though, we're off.


The other good news is that one of the Carracks, the Izumi, will be here tomorrow, I think, and they'll have two TIEs and a new pilot for us.  They'll be filling Zam's slot.  Lastly, the Tuonetar may show up as well, just to show off.  (The Victory class Star Destroyer that is the flagship of the Derilyn Squadron).  But stay cool.  They're for show, and they have a lot of crack pilots, but you're the 1313th that drew first blood.  So:

First transport to Caronath is in half an hour, next one is at noon.  Dress Uniform, on your best behavior.  Any questions?"

OCC: Shadea, Kenth, you have little icons of a freighter and a fighter, respectively, painted on your TIE.

Sallin's mentioning their required reports jogged Kenth's memory. He had finished it up yesterday evening and had even added in a list of possible tweaks to the TIE's that may be of use, but with all the hustle and bustle of yesterday evening he had forgot to send it. Taking out his bad he quickly transferred it to Sallin. He hated being late turning anything in.

The previous one had been interesting though a bit nerve racking. Dinner with the XO was not something he had expected or was really prepared for. Sure things had been friendly enough, but he had felt so out of place. He wondered if Shadea had felt the same and what her impressions of the XO were.

Arry was in her quarters, finishing her AAR when word came in that they were to meet on the flight deck. She was just about done so she made sure everything looked good, hit send, then got up to make sure she looked every inch the proper Imperial officer before making her way to the meeting.

"No questions, sir," she told him. As soon as they were dismissed she returned to her quarters, changed uniforms, and went on her way to catch the transport.

Although Shadea had been out of her social depth during the dinner, she had been able to keep her conversation polite enough, short but not curt answers her bread and butter to make it through in one piece. Not that Osk was devoid of interest in rubbing elbows with important people that could benefit her future, but given the current abysmal gap in station and how little they knew each other, it felt more prudent not to act overly friendly or familiar around them.

When it came to their little stop, Osk gravitated towards staying aboard the ship, with the recent events still fresh, she was more keen on relaxing in a familiar environment than stressing in a strange one. If there was something really worth checking, she could always rely on the chirpy Zinda to rely it to her so that she could check it for herself on the second day.

When Sallin called them together, Zinda was stiff, formal and nervous, fussing over her uniform. "Will we be holding any kind of exercises with the Tuonetar, sir?" she asked.

After they were dismissed, Zinda was all smiles. "Yes!" she chirped. "This'll bring me to three planets I've been to. Anyone want to take in a holovid while we're down there?"

"A holovid would be satisfactory. Is there anything playing that you find of particular interest?" Arry asked as she tugged the hem of her tunic down to smooth any folds or wrinkles.

She would have preferred something more casual for their first time on leave but appearances were important. They represented the Empire in all things and had to look professional as well as conduct themselves as officers.

"Hmm, no idea what they show here. As long as they don't see in infrared or something, that'd be a bit of a strange viewing experience. Hopefully, they're showing something about Xim." Zinda said. "And maybe some shopping; haven't spent much since I was in the academy."

He was fine with maybe catching a holovid while they were on shore leave but wasn't sure about the shopping. "A Holovid might be a good diversion. As for shopping there is the Elrood Bazaar from what I've read."

Then he thought about it and quickly checked his datapad, "Sorry wrong planet, no Bazaar on Merisse but I'm sure there are other things."

"Ooh, that sounds nice!" Zinda said, perking up, then let out an "Awww" when Kenth mentioned this was the wrong world for the Bazaar. "Well, surely they'll be something. I want to get something to send back home, let the folks know I'm off having adventures."

"Shame there's no Bazaar but there are 'other things', as Lt. Seshani said. We can sample local cuisine whilst taking in the sights and looking for a theatre if we are so inclined. Shall we?"

Arry straightened her tunic and waited for the others before heading off for the shuttle.

"What do you think the styles are like here? I haven't gotten to dress up in anything for a while" Zinda asked as she too head towards the shuttle. "I won't get to wear it here, but it still might be nice to buy an outfit"

Kenth repressed the urge to roll his eyes as Zinda began talking about clothing styles and buying an outfit. He remembered going on shopping trips with his mom, which were fun when he was smaller but turned into him packing everything as he got older.

Straightening his cap he started toward the shuttle, "Might want to catch the shuttle before it leaves or we won't be doing much of anything."

"Oh! Is it already leaving?" Zinda yelped, looking behind her. Luckily, it hadn't left. "See you on the surface!" she said with a happy wave before trotting off to the shuttle.

"Did she forget we're going with her?" Arry asked Kenth as they followed Zinda to the shuttle. The young woman was...excitable, even for a human. Still, she did have a vitality that Arry could appreciate. In small doses.
