Character Creation

This is about as simple as can be.

25 point buy, 2nd level, first level can be anything, second level should be soldier.

One of your feats must be Starship Operation! That's for starfighters.
You're getting a free Medium Armor feat too.

Gender, any, +5% XP for Males
Species, almost any humanoid, +5% XP for Humans

Since we're all in the same place (TIE Pilots), for CC, I'd like some kind of backstory, along with motivations for supporting the empire, and becoming a military pilot.  A simple hook or two would be nice also, but no need to get too crazy (yet).

If you're sketchy on the rules, that's ok.  I'm not a rules lawyer.  We can talk about what you want to do, you can write what you want, and we can figure it out from there.

Just don't go all minmaxx-munchkiny, ok?

Starting Credits & Gear-

I'm not so much worried about these.  Everything you own should fit into one or two big duffel bags - you're Duty-Posted.  & Since you're new, and this is an Imperial Campaign, let's just take double max for starting credits, buy some things - but exotic weapons & whatnot are more than just frowned upon - and the rest is in your bank account.

If you couldn't bring it on an airliner or cruise ship, you shouldn't have it.

I'm happy to have the clothes on my back and whatever the Empire provides. Also, I have no idea what costs what anyway. (Not that I'm terribly interested.)

Free Stuff is always free!

What do you think about officers being armed aboard a ship? Not their fighter.  Just walking about. I kinda think no, but if you're all for it, I want to know.

Having a sidearm for a combat speciality fits the Empire,  think. I like the idea.

Well, my inclination is to think carrying a sidearm aboard ship unless combat is anticipated would be verging on paranoia, but it is the Empire so paranoia is kind of baked in. Zinda forgetting to carry hers-she's a trusting sort-could lead to some fun rp

I do not believe I have ever seen Imperial pilots with sidearms. I could at least see them having a holdout blaster in their fighter - because (lol) they might survive a crash. (I laugh, but it's happened a few times - I seem to recall that one of the TIE pilots from the Battle of Yaving survived a crash on the moon, and I imagine at least some of the TIE pilots survived the Battle of Endor to end up on the Forest Moon. But onboard their home vessel? I doubt it. The Empire doesn't want to risk mutinies, and weapons are the sort of things that encourage those.

Yeah, I don't see any need for pilots to be armed on station, perhaps it is technically permitted, and perhaps a few of the exceptionally paranoid do carry on their own house, but I like that's few might carry small arms in the cockpit, "just in case"

I’m inclined to vote no.  Ships are pretty secure, I would say the only ones carrying weapons would be security forces.

Feats that apply to starfighters as well as you personally:

Alertness - that +2 to spot counts in spaceship combat, if you're looking for something hidden.
Blind-Fighting - if your vision is obscured, this counts.
Combat Expertise - I need to check something, but maybe.
Combat Reflexes - Probably.
Endurance - if you eject, this will be useful.
Heroic Surge - extra action is good
Improved Initiative - first is best
Lightning Reflexes - faster is better
Persuasive - both Bluff and Intimidate could be used via fighter, maybe?
Point Blank Shot (Star Fighter) - +1 attack & damage
Precise Shot (Star Fighter) - requires Point Blank Shot, can shoot through a crowd
Quickdraw - working on effects but open to suggestions
Quickness - adds to the
Rugged - if you eject, this will be useful.
Skill Emphasis - Pilot, Tactics, Physics...all could apply
Steady - +1 to reflex saves
Stealthy - Maybe?
Trustworthy - Maybe?
Weapon Focus - +1 to attack
Zero-G training - if your grav unit goes down


Improved Critical (Star Fighter) - requires attack +8
Maneuver Expertise - Requires 6 ranks in Pilot.
Mobility (Star Fighter) - Requires Dex 13 and Starship Dodge.
Multishot (Star Fighter) - Requires Dex 13, Point Blank Shot (Star Fighter), Rapid Shot (Star Fighter)
Rapid Shot (Star Fighter) - Requires Dex 13, Point Blank Shot (Star Fighter)
Starship Dodge - miss me miss me now you gotta kiss me.  Requires 6 ranks in Pilot.
