Myrmidon, Merisee System 2-12-18 1200hrs

After a few days on the friendly planet of Merisee, the Myrmidon took on some new provisions, apparently patched a gavitics panel or three, and launched in preparation of meeting the Carrack class light cruiser Izumi.

Once clear of the atmosphere, the planet glittered below - an amazingly beautiful ball of blue blue waters, two generally flat continents of the greenest green, and one wildly jagged mountain range which formed the land bridge between them.

For those especially eagle-eyed, the Flagship of the Derilyn Squadron, the VSD-190 Tuonetar sat on the distant horizon, only the tiniest glow from her great ion engines giving her away.  With that Star Destroyer on scene, there certainly wouldn't be more trouble on this stop along the Elrood Run...

Upcoming on the spinward side came the Izumi; she was carrying the two TIE's on her external racks - or at least she was as first one, then another peeled off and headed towards the Myrmidon.

Beef's voice is in your comm if you're awake...or a light sleeper -

"Let's get a reception for our new squadmate.  If you're able, Hanger, Hie-on"

Naturally, there's a little jockeying, as the two TIEs have to be racked, but before long, you're new squadmate is popping the hatch and coming down...

Hopping down from the ladder, Victor removed his flight helm to show what could have been a poster boy for an imperial recruitment ad: a human with blonde hair and piercing blue eyes and a serious expresson that befitted a core world lad fresh out of the Imperial Flight Academy.

The other pilot, Liutenant Kirana Kaus followed suit and removed her own helmet to reveal a human woman with blonde hair tucked neatly in a bun and green eyes as opposed to Victor's blue. Both looked in their mid 20s.

The rigors of imperial academy discipline were still freshly enforced into them both and it showed in their demeanor as they both stood to attention with helmets tucked underneath one arm and saluting with the other at LCDR Sallin's approach in perfect synchronisation.

"Sir, TK-1886-2190 and TK-1889-5228 reporting in." said Victor in a tone betraying little emotion, producing his transfer papers before resuming his salute until dismissed.

Since this was Zinda's watch, she was ready and did not have to be awoken. She had been enjoying the beautiful view of the planet, but she hurried to the hanger to greet the incoming pilots. Since the commander hadn't yet spoken to them she made the supreme effort of will to avoid her usual chattering, but she still gave a bright, friendly smile to the two newcomers.

Though it was very close to being the end of watch for Kenth he stuck around as the new pilot came aboard. He stood quietly in formation with the others as the pilot introduced himself and the other female pilot. Noting that the pilot used their pilot designation and not their names was a bit formal compared to what was normal on board the Myrmidon. Something Kenth had wondered about but never questioned, if the ranking officers had a problem with it he was sure they would have been corrected by now.
