Re: General OOC

As I recall, I had some trouble with.  But it doesn’t matter; the important thing is that I have the pdf now.

Re: General OOC

Would you say that the old Wisdom approach roughly corresponds to Restraint?

Re: General OOC

No, Restraint is more like the old Prudence.  Wisdom doesn't have a clear analogue in the final version, but I guess if you're trying to go 1:1 as much as possible then Instinct might be your best bet.

If you're not sure, you can also look through the sample stunts on p27 of the pdf and see which ones map onto which virtues, and see if that helps you decide how you want to rebuild your character.  Honestly I think that was one of the most helpful parts for me as the designer to get my head around how I wanted to divide and define the different virtues.

Re: General OOC

Dear Prudence... why don't you come out to play?

Sorry, I know this is a game of heavy metal, but I've been on a Beatles bender lately...

Re: General OOC

Pretty soon, I'll take another look at my stats and try to figure out how to translate them for the new system.  For whatever reason, I keep getting thrown for a loop when I do this.

Re: General OOC

If you can articulate what's making this hard for you i might be able to help, but I realize it could just be One Of Those Things.

Of course, the other option is to forget about the old stats and rebuild from scratch.

Re: General OOC

What do you say Geez? Reboot (start from scratch) or rebuild - (keep on with the old stats)?

Re: General OOC

Well that's not quite what I meant - I was talking about rebuilding the same character but starting fresh with the new system, rather than trying to determine which old stats map most closely to which current stats (and it isn't a 1:1 connection).

But since you bring it up, these characters altogether, and possibly the current storyline as well, I would also be open to that.

Re: General OOC

Yeah, I'd be fine with just continuing the same storyline using the new system.

I think I've figured it out: I can only work effectively on my new character sheet if I'm listening to Dio (or Dio with Sabbath).

Here's what I came up with for stats (so far):

Passion: +1
Restraint: +3
Instinct: +1
Sleight: +2
Accord: 0
Force: +2

Alright, cool.  You guys feel okay with stunts and aspects, or need time to update those as well?

Yeah, just make sure that stunts are linked to the updated stats and not the old ones.
