The Traits and Skills: "But what if I want to..."

"But what if I want to..."

"...Search for something?"

If it's something someone's deliberately hidden, it's Riddling, whether using logic, solving puzzles, or outwitting someone.

Alternatively, you could use Sneaking and concealing something.

If it's NOT something that someone's deliberately hidden, then just Riddling//Solving Puzzles would fit best.

Now, if you were in a wilderness area, you could use Foraging. And of course if you were specifically looking for some sort of plant, you could use herbalism.

"...Climb a wall?"

--feats of strength
--Foraging: surviving (in the wild), guiding, scouting
--Sneaking: moving quietly IF you have to do it quietly.

"...Use a boat?"

--Foraging: surviving (in the wild), guiding, scouting

"...overhear interesting rumors about what's going on in the world?"

--Carousing: drinking

"...fight off poison/magic long enough for my friends to maybe get me to a haven where I can maybe be magically healed?"

--Feats of strength

"...Find and/or disarm a trap?"

Depending on the situation, I would suggest using these:

--Riddling: solving puzzles, outwitting someone
--Foraging: surviving (in the wild), guiding, scouting
--Crafting: building

Mostly, though, I'd say scouting for finding them, and solving puzzles for disarming them.

"...pick a lock?"

Actually, I don't think you CAN. Bilbo Baggins, the burglar, never picked one lock. In a world where people can put magical runes on practically anything, I don't think locks are as easy to outsmart as you're used to thinking. You're gonna have to either find a key, break the lock, break the door, or maybe use magic...
