The Havens (read RULES AND STUFF first), from west to east:
--Hobbiton (wetern Shire) and/or Bree (eastern Shire)
--Rivendell
--(Lorien would go here if Lorien wasn't problematic, see below)
--(Beorn's house would go here if it counted as a fully-fledged Haven, see below)
--Tawaroth (the Elf-King's Halls in (Northern) Mirkwood)
--LakeTown (a.k.a. Esgaroth)
--The Lonely Mountain (and/or Dale, which has been partially rebuilt)
Beorn's house, between Rivendell and the Elf-King's Halls, does NOT fully count as a Haven, but PCs
can regain 1 Toughness by resting there.
Lorien also counts as a Haven, but you can only go there for the first time if you either have at least one elf in the party (although Companions count), or else you won't be able to find it. (After you've been led there by an elf once, you can find it again in the future even if no elves are with you.) BUT... Lorien is somewhat to the south, down there not so far away from the southern end of Mirkwood, where all the worst dangers are! You don't want to just wander around down in that part of The Wilderland, do you? (Well, do you?)
Other Havens and semi-Havens may be discovered...
Dangerous Places (west to east):
The Weatherhills
The North Downs//Ettenmoors
The Trollshaws
The Misty Mountains
Almost all of Mirkwood
The Grey Mountains
The Withered Heath
