Ronald R. Dodaden:
Because the game is called Swords and Walking Sticks, I'd like the Walking Still with Horse Head to be magical please, it just goes so well with the game.
Stick turns into a hobby horse than can actually be ridden lol
Or
It talks :-0
Okay so here's the first thing I'm thinking:
The guy who made this game was inspired by the old Middle-Earth RPG in at least one way, and the way I'm thinking about right now is that in that game, magic items often just increased your skills.
So I was thinking that Ronald will notice that two of the amethysts are not only practically identical, but that they'll fit in the horse's eyes.
And then I was thinking that the restored staff would help with the
GUIDING skill. The eyes will make light that will help keep you from getting lost.
Lachriel has the
scouting skill, but
guiding isn't the same thing.
Scouting is for finding someplace you've never been before (or something you don't already know where it is).
Guiding is for finding your way back to someplace you've been before (or helping someone else do the same).
Guiding is most often used when you're trying to get back to a Haven again...
Still... the PC this would help the most is actually Aubree, because she's
already got the
Foraging trait (and she's tall enough to use the staff as a walking aid, unlike Mungo).
I don't really want the staff to be ride-able, even though I admit that's cute, because I can't see how it would work game-mechanics-wise... and also because I feel like it might lead to the rider riding off and splitting off from the party, and I want to keep the party together.
And if it talks... well, what should it say? ...I
could see it giving the wielder a bonus to the telling stories trait...? That would benefit you... among other things, it would help you use the
Take Courage! move...!
So, I mean... this is your roll, Ronald... What do you think...?
